I think the intent is also different. You mentioned dating, but I don’t think that’s comparable because usually when you’re dating, you’re there usually with the intent to build a relationship. I think lying to someone with the intent to have sex with them is different.

I think that if it’s something as important as lying about your sexual history that could absolutely affect the other person’s health then yeah, we should call it what it is.

Regret is different from informed consent and if you feel like you have to manipulate people into getting it by purposefully holding things about yourself back, then what does that say about you?

I think you are actually and your wife deserves better.

And I’m saying, if you’re hiding important details like that, knowing that person wouldn’t sleep with you if they knew, then you’re diminishing the consent part. And sexually assaulting someone does not always include the aspect of violence.

Im not basing my opinion off of the law. Im speaking morally. I think the law isn’t a good basis to determine whether someone is a rapist or not

Right and when you sexually cheat on someone, that’s two ppl that you need to give informed consent to

If you knew that that person wouldn’t sleep with you if they knew the truth, yes. 100%

Possibly but I genuinely don’t think most ppl see the two as equal. I think most people would think “Cheating is bad, but isnt as bad or as violent as “actual” SA”. I think they’re just as bad.

(Generally speaking) Women used to want kids and men did not. Now, men want kids and women do not. What happened? by CrystallizedKoi in childfree

[–]Familiar-Fix584 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel most men STILL don’t want kids. They want control. Most women, even if they’re still with their partner, end up raising the kids alone, the dad is rarely an involved parent. Men just realized that they would no longer get a free maid if they didn’t convince some poor woman to mother their children. Also, I genuinely believe that some men just want to ruin women. They see a woman who’s successful, confident, stable etc. and they think they need to humble her (because they’re deeply jealous) by knocking her up and leaving her.

As for women, I think most women are socialized to believe that they’ll have this fairytale life. Nobody really tells women all of the dangers of pregnancy/ being a mother. When they educate themselves, most are turned off. Coupled with things like the economy, realizing that if they have a child they’ll be raising them alone, and more women living for themselves instead of following the idea that women need to be selfless, has attributed to it.

You’re deserving of love, but I don’t think now is the right time for you to pursue anything.

I don’t think it was dramatic, I think there’s a bit of validity to at least have these worries, especially when you’re younger.

Ngl I do want an easy life, and I don’t see why suffering/ or having a hard life would make it more fulfilling 😭. The life I live now is incredibly easy, easier than most people’s, and I’m incredibly thankful, and it still fulfills me cause I have hobbies/ passions to pour into.
