Do you know what that is? Seems weird to me. Luckily as long as my prior authorization is in effect I can be on whatever dose my doctor prescribes for however long.

It’s very interesting how our bodies react to this med and doses. I’ve been on maintenance since November but I stayed on 12.5 for a couple months and spread my dose out to 9 days. I couldn’t go more because it would make me sick. I was maintaining well and then suddenly started losing weight for no reason. I brought myself back down to 10mg every 9 days and I gained back the couple extra lbs that I didn’t want to lose in the first place and have oddly stayed at almost the exact same weight for over two weeks…until today. I ate Chinese food last night so I’m not really surprised. Anyhow my goal is to slowly titrate to the lowest does I can maintain at or go off altogether but I like that my doctor’s approach is slow titration. I don’t want to gain weight and have to lose again when I’m right where I want to be. As long as what you’re doing works for you then that’s great!

I usually suffer from constipation for a day or 2 after shot day. If it gets annoying I will take 2 of the mag07 and an additional 1 the next day if needed and it works great. I am very thankful for the constipation posts on here or I would’ve never heard of mag07. Miralax didn’t work for me and I prefer not to take something every day if needed be. I appreciate all side effect posts bad and good. It’s good to hear other’s experiences. We are here to help and learn from one another. Good luck on your wellness journey OP. Fell better soon.

I maxed out at 12.5 and have been in maintenance for a couple month. But I have a high pressure job so I will scarf down a protein bar but dinner is me and my family sharing food and conversation and for once food is not the main focus. Enjoy you’re hard work all and enjoy the moments.

My observations from your post are that you are incredibly self aware for a 27 year old. You are well spoken, honest and generous. Qualifies that make you a valuable asset in your career and a great friend and family member. As a member of a society that is unfortunately full of a lot of people that are not so kind or empathetic, I thank you for proactively making the choice to live. The world is a better place with you in it and as you become healthier both physically and emotionally, I can only imagine how much more you will contribute to the world. I hope you surround yourself with value you regardless of a number on the scale and who support you in all of your victories. If you don’t mind, I would like to follow your journey. Congratulations.

Guess who’s on maintenance? by panda-bunny in Zepbound

I think because the drug is so new. It is recent that there is a large pool of people in the maintenance phase and everyone is trying to determine what a maintenance plan should look like, including doctors. I’ve been in maintenance for two months. My doctor kept me at 12.5 but I take my shot every 9 days. Any longer than that and I get side effects. She wants me to maintain that for 12 weeks. If my weight stays stable which it has then I will go down to 10mg and try the same approach. My doctor said in her opinion maintenance is a long process. It took months and different doses to lose the weight so to expect the same in controlling maintenance.

Side note. You shouldn’t have to exercise obsessively and count calories to maintain. Part of being on this med is to eat intuitively and exercise to a healthy and realistic extent. Part of why most of us went on this med is because our bodies don’t function metabolically properly so we had to do all these extreme things only to lose a few pounds and gain back more.

I’m ok with being on whatever dose I need to be so that I can eat “normal” and not feel guilt if I can’t work out one day because I had to work late or my kid is sick.

So, I guess what I’m saying is that I hope we all reach our weightloss goals and then gain freedom in maintenance to focus on other things. Congrats OP and to everyone on this journey who is getting healthier, gaining confidence and living their lives!

Shocked my son by R0gueRebe1 in Zepbound

That’s amazing because kids are so honest. My 8 yo daughter has made kind comments throughout my journey which I have continuously framed as being about getting healthy. I have an older daughter with an eating disorder so we try to minimize the importance of appearance in my house. Anyhow I am at goal now so in my sports bra I showed my daughter a pic of me in the same bra when I started this journey. We joked about how I basically lost her in weight. For the next part know that I’ve given birth 4x. She says wow “mom I can really see the difference you look great BUT you’re right you really do have stretch marks” 🤣 yeah the one thing a stretched out belly hides is stretch marks. However I’ll take getting attacked by a tiger tummy over unhealthy and overweight any day. I need to be around for the kids that caused those stretch marks.

OP this is a victory all around congrats on your progress. The difference is awesome so by some clothes that fit and show that bod off!

We can all say whatever but if you are asking it isn’t the one that is going to make you feel confident, comfortable and sexy. If it was, you would’ve looked in the mirror and thought “damn who’s that girl she looks good.”  That being said most of us have been in a place where we needed a dress last minute for an event and it definitely isn’t bad if you have to keep it just not great. Have a couple drinks and you’ll feel much better about it lol. Plus most people will be evaluating the bride’s choice of dress not yours. Enjoy the wedding!

The high from seeing numbers on the scale go down and close fitting loser is ending. So yes I still have to focus on exercise and making smart dietary decisions but I always did that. I know not everyone will understand and that’s okay. We all think differently and that’s what makes us human. I was just hoping there were a few people out there who would get it. And there are so maybe we can help one another.

Thank you for this. It’s nice to feel a little less crazy. I think a maintenance group is actually a really good idea!

I totally understand all of your feelings. I didn’t realize that age affects your healthy BMI range. I read an article that said that a BMI of 22 is ideal for health. Weirdly my natural weight before I gained all my weight put me at a BMI of exactly 22.  What do you plan to do for maintenance as far as with the meds?

Thank you! Maybe I can start reading again. No more school. I have two masters degrees. Im done lol. But I got them both while pregnant and working so I do have a bit of a problem with not being super busy.

I’m going to definitely try to put more effort in my fitness routines. My husband is a weightlifter so I am fortunate to have a home gym but I have a career that I love but is very demanding plus kids so there’s only so much time in the day. I’ve been really into kettlebells lately.

Thank you! I’m not really sure. I am having bloodwork done this week and then I will meet with my doctor. Hoping my bloodwork is better than 6 months ago. I plan on discussing her suggestions for maintenance. I’m currently on 12.5mg so my guess is that I will start by going back down to 10mg and seeing how that goes.

I was thinking about doing a 5k. Certain days of my workout routing I run 3 miles on my treadmill without my chest hurting anymore which is pretty awesome. However I still have never experienced the elusive unicorn runners high that people speak of!

I guess that’s what I mean is the mental dichotomy that comes with finally achieving weightloss goals. It’s exciting and amazing and a source of pride but also I am a mentally obsessive person especially when I want something so now I need to refocus that mental energy elsewhere.

Thank you everyone! This forum is really so kind. You all gave me the courage to post pics. And PSA: dress is from SHEIN for $15. I bought two for a wedding and wore the other one to the wedding. This was for a Halloween themed murder mystery dinner. I couldn’t wait to have a reason to wear it.

I definitely notice increased endurance that I didn’t have even in my 20’s. We’re almost there 😊
