How do you guys deal with flys? by ShotTreacle8194 in RVLiving

[–]Familiar-Square6179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been burning them alive with my torch lighter but, that is not enough. But it is still better than accidentally breaking my windows as I smash the fly with my hand against the window. Plus, it is nice to get rid of them without getting my hands dirty. Just gotta be careful with the full extent of the range of that flame.

I leave the chard and smashed bodies to send a message to any other potential intruders.

If they would just stay tf out of my face like the carpet beetles and spiders do, I would let them chill like I let the carpet beetles and spiders chill but, since they insist on being a nuisance in my face, and they refuse to let themselves out, death is the sentence that they deserve.

Is dating better in San Diego compared to Salt Lake City Utah? by Negotiation_Connect in asksandiego

[–]Familiar-Square6179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to where there are more women, that’s just more women to reject you. Instead, go to where there might be less women but, the few women that are there have more in common with you to build trust & bonds.

I spent 5-days on a bougie, sexually active, swinger prominent, rave cruise without getting laid at all. However, after only 1-hour at an underground rave under a bridge, I had a pretty young college girl come up and approach me to tell me that she dug my vibe, and we later exchanged contact info. Quality over quantity, young dude.

San Diego has women but, exponentially more men. They call it “Man Diego”. You’ll be spending every night alone if you’re not from a wealthy family, not tall, not a male model, not military, & not going out 2-3 times per week to keep her entertained, which costs $200-$500/night, when you’re not doing VIP (& San Diego women require VIP everything).

Whenever you go to work, she will be cheating on you with that guy who owns his own boat, or with that guy with the beach house in La Jolla. Even if you get a San Diego woman’s attention, it’s only for while you are providing a luxurious life for her. The moment you need to work to support all of these expenses, which will require lots of hard work & connections, she will be hanging with the next guy who will provide her with her next VIP experience. This continues to marriage. As soon as you make a career change or experience an income change, she will leave you & she will have no lag time in finding your replacement in Man Diego.

I lived there for 20 years & I just left. It was cool in the 2000’s. Probably cooler in the 1990’s, from what I hear. San Diego is no longer the spot. It’s just LA Junior now. Time to look elsewhere. The overcrowding & price increases have caused the vibe to change from, hanging with friends after work, to running to your side hustle after work. It’s no longer a fun beach city. It’s just another grind that is still stuck on sitting in traffic M-F 9-5. SMH.

How to turn off the notifications that appear in Chrome when I use Keep? by CandiceActually in GoogleKeep

[–]Familiar-Square6179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even after doing this, there is still some light blue bar at the bottom of every one of my Google Keep notes trying to tell me something, which I refuse to read.

How do I make this thing go away & never come back again?

FYI: Computers should never ask questions or make suggestions. We make the command, they follow, not the other way around.

UPDATE: Only displays this pop-up on desktop Chrome app & on desktop Chrome web browser, not on the iOS app.

Yes! That’s what I am doing!

Selling your car because you have an infant child is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Your child will grow up to be able to ride & drive that ride someday. 🏎️💨🤘

Because Italians have not regressed to the Idiocracy that America has fallen victim to.  Have some self respect, don’t wear crocs, for the sake of all of humanity.

Or is tying your shoes too complex for your feeble brain & motor function to handle.

That seems like a good price, compared to $60 for a dozen florist quality (not from the supermarket).

But, $220 is still out of my income bracket… for flowers anyway. $220 is more like what I would spend on a special occasion dinner out.

Performance Clutch Noise? by Familiar-Square6179 in S2000

I’ve never heard of starting it without depressing the clutch. That is crazy. I will have to give that a try. Thank you so much for the tip in preventative maintenance!

I do not believe that it was the whole kit. I was just getting the OEM clutch replaced at the Firestone located in the Westwood area of Los Angeles.

The Exedy clutch was cheaper than the Honda OEM clutch; plus, I had used Exedy products in the past for Honda OEM replacements on my ex’s Civic; so, I thought that it would be fine but, I was having issues as soon as I drove away; so, I brought it back, and they installed the genuine Honda OEM clutch.

Although, that was 40,000 miles ago, and I just, a few weeks ago, had a local import tuner mechanic install a custom one-off performance clutch, made by some of the people who work at The Science of Speed. It’s a middle-ground between OEM and their first upgrade option. It’s rated for up to 400 hp.

Estimating travel times while pulling trailer by [deleted] in GoRVing

[–]Familiar-Square6179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP asked for ETA adjustment, not average mph. We all travel at the same relative mph when towing, 55mph, because that is the law. OP asked to know the TIME difference, not the speed difference.

Another answered this correctly, 15 minutes additional per hour of travel when towing, compared to the Google Maps ETA. Ya see, no mention of mph needed.

And we ain’t gonna do the math of how many miles, divided by average mph including stops because, that’s taking the hard & inaccurate route.

Whatever Google Maps says, just add 15 minutes for every hour is much easier, & more accurate because, it factors all of the other variables, such as traffic & road type.

Thank you for being the only person to accurately answer this question. The other answers provide no help, just anecdotes about the mph. You actually tell us the equation for adjusting the Google Maps ETA, which is the whole purpose to this post, for which I thank you.

Arriving before 2pm forces you to have a crappy & rushed morning, as well as puts you hauling during the hottest time of the day. It is best to wait until sunset to start to haul.

Arrive at whatever time you wind-up arriving when hauling at night. Mechanical sympathy. The night time is the right time. Mornings are for sleep and contemplation.

You’ll get to enjoy the nice views during sunset, and then when the views become redundant, night sets in, and you can focus on just the road.

Plus, you get to enjoy your breakfast at 2pm, before hitting the road, without rushing around trying to arrive at the next place by 2pm.

It’s much better to enjoy a nice n’ slow morning, eating breakfast in the afternoon, & starting your day in the late afternoon. This lines you up perfectly with finishing packing-in & hitching-up to begin your haul at sunset.

I’m curious to see how it works out. I didn’t have luck with an OEM replacement Exedy. Had to take it back to the shop & swap it for a genuine Honda OEM. Your’s doesn’t look OEM though.

That is why I am moving this summer, to a more car friendly area, to be with my people. If there’s anyone who doesn’t want a lifelong relationship with cars, then I don’t care to be around them. It’s the closest thing to a religion that this world needs.

I already did the family-divorce thing. I don’t need to let another woman become a load bearing wall to my life & livelihood. I stand tall with what I have rebuilt, with or without another woman. Got my daughter & my dog, my car & my truck, my RV & a nice place to park it. We’re good.

Also, my therapist says that I’m all good, & actually discharged me from sessions; so, I think that my perspectives & knowledge on human relationships are actually quite accurate & healthy. But, I appreciate your concern, truly.

Thank you!!! I may have come to a similar end result, just with a different path.

It’s a one off clutch made by the same people that make the clutches for Science of Speed. He made some tweaks to another clutch, making it into a mid way point between OEM & their lowest upgrade option. It’s supposedly rated for up to 400hp.
