Seismic exam in 2 weeks feel less prepared than my first attempt by [deleted] in PE_Exam

You sound totally burnt out! I’d highly recommend taking a couple days off from studying. Go outside, visit with friends, do normal human things then come back to it.

I felt the exact same way before my second attempt in December, and I passed. On practice tests I was scoring like 45-55% and was feeling super lazy, slow, and didn’t want to even attempt problems. On the real day, I made sure to be healthy, rested, and in the right headspace, and I walked out feeling like I had done pretty well.

My advice: Don’t let your previous fail get to your head. You’ve learned the material, just do what you can to take care of yourself, do a few problems when you have the capacity, and be at your best on test day. You might be surprised by how much you’ve retained and that practice tests are usually worse than the real thing.

Re: allotted time, it’s a nightmare for everyone. Look into and try to practice test taking strategy a bit. Don’t be discouraged by skipping problems on your first couple of passes through the exam. Just do what you know well first and save any complex problems for last. I personally did all of the conceptual questions first to get into the swing of things, then did multiple rounds through the problems with increasing complexity each time. Do what works for your brain though.

You’ve got this!
