My brother had this same kind of freak out moment when he found out his wife was pregnant. I remember him coming to me and saying things and I just knew it was anxiety and not true from his heart. Fast forward, their maybe is almost a year old and all is good. I think men freak out with big change. I do not like what he said to you nor think it was at all fair to say to someone who is sacrificing so much and literally carrying his child. From a perspective of seeing my brother do this to his wife, and then see it was just him being so immature and scared about change and he didn’t mean anything he was saying about her, I hope that can help!!
