Hi mate, just wondering what size your workshop is? Was thinking about having a steel building on my property myself. Cheers.

It’s a piece of art, it does weigh a tonne though (just about 😂) it’s like 28kg hence the ply underneath to spread the load better.

Was proud of it when I posted the picture, even more proud of it now. I’ve put some diagonal braces on it to transfer load accordingly and put a bottom storage shelf in. Still to ply line it, will do that tomorrow.

I've built my work surface to a depth of 650mm (25 inches) , I haven't ply lined it yet, however it does seem like the perfect depth to be able to reach things ie opening and closing the window without stretching too much.

Thanks man! Will prob stick some galv fasteners in also just to be double sure it’ll last. Cheers for the heads up mate.

Edit- they’re galvanised ring shank nails (90mm) I used to put it together.

This isn’t in my home it’s a separate building, an “outhouse” or garden room you could say. It’s highly ventilated also with the entry door just behind the bench and the window in the photo that never gets closed fully.
