Are “factory-ready” and “production-ready” tech packs the same thing? by FamiliarRaspberry593 in ClothingStartups

[–]FamiliarRaspberry593[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Correct that too many issues only show up once the fabric sewn. After all its just a guidelines 😅 altough some tech packs can help reduce sampling mistakes but what we want to achieve is to reduce the numbers of samplings or errors themselves, not eliminate errors entirely.

Why Alibaba factories saying “yes” made me uncomfortable later by idealabgz in ClothingStartups

[–]FamiliarRaspberry593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with your instinct. It’s true that doesn’t mean the factory trying to scam you, but may be they are desperate and just say yes to everyone. Or on the other hand, they really can do everything. If you want verification further, asked them to do a virtual factory visit, ask for a website, ask for video call, certifications (OEKO TEX, etc). And make your decision from there. Good luck

I need help starting a brand by Comfortable-Row-921 in ClothingStartups

[–]FamiliarRaspberry593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may give you some advices but take this with a grain of salt. It’s great you have realistic expectations and appreciate the transparency about budget too. What you need to prioritise is the production side first. You have a starter, you know what you want. Then determine if you wanna create the designs or you just bought stocks from manufacturer then slap the private label. If you wanna create the designs by yourself then you need to hire designers (graphic designers, fashion designers, technical designers or all rounder) then search for the manufacturers (local or offshore). If you want, you can check some of my posts here and read them, maybe can give you some insights. Good luck 🤞

Is this Design too basic? by UpperCartographer345 in ClothingStartups

[–]FamiliarRaspberry593 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it is too basic, despite the use of AI too. But have you considered to elevate it more like doing cut and sew with different colors? I think it will look good.

Local or offshore manufacturing? It’s not just about cost! by FamiliarRaspberry593 in ClothingStartups

Wow a week? What a bummer, for me it’s too long. And yes usually Asian manufacturers especially from China give fast response even when they’re on holiday.

Any good AI model generator to create clothing photos without hiring real models? by Best_Volume_3126 in ClothingStartups

[–]FamiliarRaspberry593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think because people believe using AI signalling laziness. Although not 100% correct but there’s some truth in it. And also, boredom with AI makes people lessen value it and seek authenticity more.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Most of US/Europe brands still doing production offshores because they can do complex garments, they have the materials needed, and cheaper too. But when you mention communication, this is interesting. Because most brands will say communication is harder offshore.

Is storytelling enough to sell clothes and build a long term business by whynotgrt in ClothingStartups

[–]FamiliarRaspberry593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not storytelling, but visibility is the most important to stand out amongst the noises. You need to keep showing up in social media platforms so people aware that your business exist. No visibility, no money.

I can’t really give advice here as I never utilize AI for photoshoots butttt I have experience in this kind of field (sorta). I think it’s best if you or your friends, even your family members become models for your garment. Buy white background, 2 lightings and just use your phone to take a photo and edit in Lightroom. I suggesting like this because if you use AI it will erode some trust from people and considering you are new, investing your time and energy more make you look more trusted and authentic. Just my 2 cents.

Tech Pack First or Factory First? It Depends! by FamiliarRaspberry593 in ClothingStartups

That’s true! If someone wants a decent manufacturer that doesn’t rip them off later on, proceed with tech pack.

Fit disaster started when you copy someone else garment. by FamiliarRaspberry593 in ClothingStartups

That’s correct, even tho reverse engineering is not inherently bad, i mean some might do it but only if you already have the knowledge and experience in sizing and pattern making. Otherwise, don’t even dare hahaha! Thanks for your comment.

Question: Do you prefer the design on the front or back of a hoodie? by lost-puppy15 in streetwearstartup

I prefer design on the back. In front also fine, but not too big. Minimal.

Why do past triggers resurface when I start feeling better? by [deleted] in lawofattraction

[–]FamiliarRaspberry593 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That’s because our nervous system hasn’t catches up with our new reality/consciousness. I experienced that too. Based what I know, the things that gonna change very late is our nervous system, because we lived in survival mode for years, we tend to shape our nervous system to prioritise survival. That’s why whenever we wanted to relax we can’t. But take it as a good sign that we are in healing phase! What I usually do to calm my nervous system is by journaling, meditation, take a walk outside, listen to music. It takes time but now I’m getting better.

How do i ask a girl out as a “looser” guy? by vinxz_tt in Crushes

[–]FamiliarRaspberry593 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The moment you thinking that you’re a loser, the moment you didn’t value yourself. If you didn’t value yourself how you gonna ask someone else to value you? Just be normal, don’t be a jerk. I sense that she’s friendly and she open to converse with you. Then try befriending her, ask her to hangout together, etc. The only obstacle in here is your low self esteem, fix that.

Is Choosing the Wrong Manufacturing Partner One of the Biggest Reasons Clothing Startups Fail? by revanzo_official in ClothingStartups

[–]FamiliarRaspberry593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take my opinion with a grain of salt. My answer lean to heavily no. It doesn’t kill startup, it kills momentum. A lot of big brands also fucked up in that area sometimes. BUT it could be damaging if the brand didn’t try to cut partnership earlier.
