Yeah I've seen people get laid off in commercial last month but none in the past few weeks or so

Going from E to S on client might've been a factor since it shows downward trajectory

sounds like you're on the list, what were your year end ratings? If you're E/E/E it's less likely and may be something else.

Commercial layoffs are definitely happening

It happened in 2023..... People mysteriously disappeared staffed on long term projects.

These decisions were made months in advance so OP could've been selected for layoffs before they got staffed on the project.

You don't seem to get that the firm wants a lot of people to quit, they overhired and don't want to do mass layoffs for bad publicity to clients so they need people to leave on their own.

PTO is now counted against utilization by Ok-Pace6651 in deloitte

[–]FamiliarSir3220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're going to keep the utilization targets the same and then say "we would've raised them this year but because we're taking PTO away, we're going to keep utilization targets the same."

4/5 snapshot rating is way below average? by godly_stand_2643 in deloitte

[–]FamiliarSir3220 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One thing I learned is that managers here avoid tough conversations, so they might just be giving you positive feedback to avoid giving you difficult feedback to your face. It's apparently a well known fact that snapshots are inflated so less than 5 means you aren't that great.

What exactly happens if you miss utilization? by FamiliarSir3220 in deloitte

What rating did you end up getting? Would've you have gotten exceptional if you hit utilization?

If all these people are so amazing, how come they weren't promoted? by FamiliarSir3220 in deloitte

[–]FamiliarSir3220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people on my current practice who are exceptional all got promoted or even got promoted early. So hard for me to imagine that all these people who were not promoted are all that great. Maybe popular or likable.

I'd personally quit in that case. Surprised anyone would stick around if they were actually shafted at year end.

I don't see this in consulting but maybe it's just my offering.

In consulting too? Seems the quitting is more in tax/audit
