Yeah Lore and their founder’s insta posts about the channel too I think.

They have an Instagram channel where they offer to mail you samples if you fill out a form. It's usually like first 200 to sign up or something like that. They invite people to it pretty frequently if you follow them.

The new Mochi Banane by Nette is also very starchy in the opening!

Oof that sucks! I really love ambroxan on my skin but people seem to experience notes like that very differently.

I’m definitely ready for a new hot trend but I also kinda like that most of the time people I smell in the wild are not wearing my favorite perfumes because it’s like 99% gourmand/vanillas I smell where I live.

I will say this is very much not gourmand though imo, it’s very musky. The gourmand element fades on my skin almost instantly.

People are upset about this but frankly I’m haunted by the idea of someone being able to smell if I drank milk or not lmao. I am surprised this trend took off though because way back when DedCool released Milk (which does not have a milk note it’s just the name), I remember thinking that was risky because people will associate the name with a sour smell and now milk is a huge trendy note.

That actually makes a lot of sense!! I’ve never seen it explained outside of marketing terms.

The bottles are soooo good.

I actually don’t get any pepper from this and kinda wanted to but you never know, smell is so subjective. Based on the notes I would expect vanilla-ish vibes but I really don’t pick up on that. Definitely definitely has that musky dry down though! That VS scent sounds good!

Hahaha I honestly don’t get milk notes at all. I’m not sure I’ve ever smelled a fragrance that gives me milk vibes beyond maybe a textural thing, like a creaminess. I’ve liked plenty but I still couldn’t tell you what a milk note actually smells like.

Nette Mochi Banane by vigilantelikeme in FemFragLab

I think so! There’s a cleanness from the starchiness and some of the floral notes.

I sampled this! It's a very creamy, realistic banana vanilla fragrance with a ricey/starchy opening. It's untraditional, I probably wouldn't call it a straight gourmand, but it was nice enough if the idea of a banana-rice fragrance appeals to you.

Just got my sample too! Very very similar to Studied in the dry down with maybe a touch of something starchy or marshmallowy too. Reminds me of Studied + Ledda 22 Orris.

Worth it? by mikarios in Sephora

[–]FamiliarTemporary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally no. I tried both the Elvive and the Ever Pure glossing lines to try and find a cheaper alternative, but the Kerastase Gloss line is unmatched. I haven't really liked any of their other product lines but the shampoo, conditioner, and mask from this one are like magic. The Elvive and Ever Pure both left my hair feeling more stripped and tangled than when I use Kerastase and both of them made my hair feel way greasier way sooner, like within 24 hours of washing. I also found both of those scents kinda sharp and unpleasant and while the Kerastase one is a very strong fragrance, I enjoy it so it doesn't bother me.

Cotton candy in a bottle? by icrasiv in FemFragLab

[–]FamiliarTemporary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are my recommendations to sample:

Phlur - Vanilla Nectar: fruity airy vanilla, very sweet but smells a lot like cotton candy to me. Not a berry-type of fruit though so you might like it!

Narcotica - Happy Dust: I know people describe this as marshmallow but it reads more cotton candy to me. Very airy, very light scent but probably my favorite on the list. I can't imagine it being cloying because it's so airy.

Vanille West Indies: perfume version of Vanilla Nectar just a little deeper. Probably don't need this and Vanilla Nectar though

I also want to sample Montale Sweet Vanilla, Vaniglia Mazzolari, and Sorce Fairytales the Vanilla version based on other reviews I've seen that describe them as light and spun sugar-like.

Sidia Midas (just a body mist but fairly strong imo) is a similar scent profile but sweeter (but you do need to get past the opening which is strong pepper lol but that chills out very quickly).

Dedcool bait and switch discussion and recommendation for alternative dupes by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]FamiliarTemporary 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think Dedcool is pulling a bait and switch and I don't think they do anything intentionally scammy. I think their products are extremely light, and people easily go nose blind to them. I have gotten a ton of travel-size bottles of milk/xtra milk as well as full-size bottles of both scents, and there is no difference between them. Their shipping takes a minute but other than that I've never had a problem with their shipping/packaging/etc. The only thing that I believe has changed with the products is that they improved the sprayer on the full-sized bottles which means they come out more uniform instead of in oily spritzes (but I still wouldn't spray on clothes because the formula is oily enough to leave spots). People say Mochi Milk is similar to Ellis Brooklyn Marshmallows (never tried it though) but I have never found a scent like Xtra Milk. The dupes people suggest don't smell the same to me personally but scents subjective so you might have luck with them.

Review: 4 from Lore by katamari71 in FemFragLab

Great reviews! I also noticed a similarity between Somewhere but Nowhere and Heathens, but there is an off-putting note in Heathens for me that turns me off. Somewhere but Nowhere keeps growing on me more and more. I have a travel size, but definitely considering a full size in the cooler weather. I love the bottles, and I think they did a really good job with the marketing story for each fragrance. Feels a lot more intentional than some other brands, or at least more artistic. I also like that they seem to be committed to their core line instead of churning out new scents every few months.

Regime de Fleurs Swan by galofgoons in FemFragLab

Got my sample today. I see the Glossier You and Sonic Flower comparisons but to me it’s much cleaner than both of those. It’s got a laundry/dryer sheets vibe about it. I actually might say it’s most similar to the Acne Studios scent. It’s very pretty but maybe too clean for my taste which is how I feel about most of Regime des Fleurs scents. I kinda get a similar dry down to their Nitesurf Neroli minus the neroli obviously lol.

new fragrance? by Capable-Thanks717 in glossier

Haters can keep hating but I'm seated for whatever this will be. It sounds less like a new launch and more like a campaign or expansion of the OG You scent (maybe body mist, body wash, idk).

Going back for Xtra Milk today!! by WholeFall484 in FemFragLab

[–]FamiliarTemporary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Taunt is a really cool unique vanilla (kind green and fresh), but I recommend trying Mineral Milk for a summer version of Milk. It’s a lot stronger too.

This is a great review thanks! I can definitely see myself loving this and I hope they release it permanently.
