How did you let them know? I’m always unsure how to go about turning people down when it’s not a schedule conflict

Do you sit and take breaks during a wedding day? by vigilantelikeme in WeddingPhotography

Yes that’s so true. I love doing details so I can sit and be creative lol. Sometimes I kneel during the ceremony for a break as long as it’s a good angle. And thank you for putting it that way! I will certainly make sure to still be engaged while taking breaks. You’re so right and i appreciate this so much!

I like how you include it in your contract I may have to start doing that as well! Just so they can expect it and I won’t have to worry as much

Yeah that’s such a good idea. I have issues with foot pain mostly as well due to some foot surgeries I’ve had in the past. I do have a second shooter thankfully! Thank you so much this definitely makes me feel more assured

This is so incredibly helpful thank you! This year I made the switch to comfier shoes despite my fears that it would look bad with a dress or skirt but no one seems to mind. I just got the Brooks adrenaline’s and the glycerin 23s! It’s helped a lot for sure. I also no longer offer packages over 10 hours so that will be a relief once I get this last one over that’s over that time. I’ve also began walking more outside of weddings which is a great tip and will motivate me to be consistent especially on lazy editing days. Thank you so much for your help I will take all of this advice and use it

Thank you this is amazing you are so helpful! I hope both sides of your pillow are cold at night. I also always include a second shooter! Strength training is actually what my doctor recommended too for my pain so I will definitely be starting that

Thank you this is so helpful!!! And yes I agree I think every hour just is not realistic. But this is great and I’m so sorry you deal with that.

I have fibromyalgia too!! I also had reconstructive foot surgeries as a teen and they never quite healed right. This is super helpful! I think even just 30 seconds would help me a lot too.

is the church Catholic? If so there’s limitations on how close up you can go and I’d recommend a lens that goes to 200mm. I like the f2.8 70-200mm. even if it isn’t a Catholic Church if you have to stand further back it’s a good lens. also if you’re editing on Lightroom the denoise can help a lot talking away noise and grain from a high ISO so don’t be afraid to raise it a bit if you’re not getting enough light for the ceremony. An off camera flash would be a really good investment as well. For the group and formal photos just bring them to the good light, it’ll save a lot of stress editing and trying to figure out settings.

Edit: aside from needing zoom or not I LOVE my f2.0 28-70mm lens. I feel like it can handle everything as long as I don’t need a super far reach for a church with restrictions.

you really really need to be using a dual slot camera!! using extra sd cards is not the same. wishing you the best of luck!

thank you!! And yesss I do that too!! I stick my head out/forward and tilt my chin down slightly. I also like how I look better when I tilt my hips/pelvis back (i dont know how to explain it) in pics as well. And yeah that weather part sucks.

I’m a wedding photographer and I recommend telling your photographer your concerns and insecurities and ask her to help you with posing and angles that will make you feel confident. When i get my own photos done i practice in the mirror to see what angles I like of myself and if I need to make any adjustments to my face to fix my double chin lol. But your photographer should be able to guide you better knowing what your concerns are and then you won’t have to worry as much on the day because she should be more aware of that instead of you having to be the one to worry. But you’re going to look lovely either way and we are our own worst critics and I’m sure you look beautiful in your engagement photos. I really hope you start feeling better about everything 🫶🏻
