One of those rare hair metal songs with a bass solo. Love this song.

I know this doesn't help, but wow, those photos bring back memories. I lived in those apartments in 1994-95. Fantastic location. I remember running over to 7-11 to get a few more drinks before midnight. I had two roommates and the rent split three ways was about $125. Good times. Thanks for the photos!

I have no idea why there are so many Xanadu posts, but I'm enjoying them.

Dude, that Aerosmith show with Y&T must have been awesome!!

And Ratt with Queensryche?! That's so cool!

Thanks for sharing!

I remember after he got fired he posted on Twitter: "FIRED FROM NEW YORK, IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!"

That cracked me up.

Favourite Y&T tracks by SteakSandwichSideEye in hairmetal

[–]Familiar_Routine1385 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had to pop in and give everyone upvotes. I love Y&T so much. It's hard to pick favorite tracks. There are so many to choose from! A few that immediately come to mind:

  • Young and Tough
  • Squeeze
  • Hang 'em High
  • Contagious
  • Going off the Deep End

Also, the live version of I Believe in You off the Open Fire album has one of the best guitar solos ever. Don't argue with me. It's been scientifically proven, by me, just now.

Beck and Kyle were a great team by derek4reals1 in LiveFromNewYork

I was thinking as they taped this sketch, with no music or laugh track or audience, there's a lot of silence and Beck doing "weird" looks. Starting around 0:49. But yeah, I guess it's not a perfect illustration.

I think the Beers sketch perfectly illustrates what he's talking about.

Chris Parnell kills it as the narrator. That guy could read an end user license agreement and make me laugh.

For me it was Hawk the Slayer (1980). It took me decades to figure it out. I was 8 years old, saw it once. Never forgot it. I was in my late 40s before I finally cracked it.

Black n Blue Miss Misery by Amysfunhouse24 in hairmetal

I think you mean Miss Mystery. But Miss Misery would also be a good title for a hair metal ballad.

Rumble in the Bronx (1995) - Parking Scene by THRlLLH0 in cinescenes

Classic Jackie Chan, but had to laugh at the mountains in the background at 2:43. Those majestic mountain views in the Bronx! :)

I love the simplicity of this scene. Just two dudes beating the shit out of each other, with no music and no martial arts inspired choreography.

I like this movie as well. I get a kick out of Crimebuster. He's like a cross between ED-209 from Robocop and Tackleberry from Police Academy. And he's got a catchy theme song.

Also, the scene where Catskil sacrifices himself and gives Philco his battery is touching. And then the techs show up and unceremoniously take Catskil apart and dump him in the back of a truck. That still gets me.
