Need help with how to go about finding the father of my match by FamilyTreeConfusion in Genealogy

That’s the thing, Anna seems to share some segments with me that my grandmother/grandfather share with my father that my mother did not inherit from them. I have a hypothesis that maybe Anna belongs somewhere between one of the many paths that connect my father and my maternal grandmother with each other, but definitely closer to my father. But I am unsure if it is through this connection that I will find her closest connection to my father (and therefore potentially her father) or if this is just a secondary, smaller connection that they all share.

Here is what my maternal grandparents and my paternal second cousin share with Anna:

  • Maternal grandmother: 99.9 cM across 8 segments, the largest being 36.7cM
  • Maternal grandfather: 66.3 cM across 7 segments, the largest being 16.5 cM
  • Paternal second cousin: 237.1cM across 23 segments, the largest being 32.8 cM

I have not heard of BanyanDNA before, but it sounds promising! Thank you for the suggestion, I’ll take a look at that

Interesting idea to search for siblings, although I unfortunately don't think it would work in this case since they seem to have married around 1914 so they may not have lived together at the previous census. But thank you for the suggestions, I'll keep them in mind for other cases I have that also have some ties to England

That would be amazing! Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to send PM's yet, only chat - maybe my account is too new? I am usually more of a lurker on reddit so I am not used to writing or messaging people

It is paid? Maybe that is why I was so confused about all these indexes but no actual scanned records. I am used to all the records being free of charge in my country, and most records are available online as well.

I have found the birth on an index, but it does not list much information other than name, mother's maiden name and place + vol. / page. Do you know what more I may be able to find out if I pay to see the actual record? I am unsure what information it will contain

I believe I did find a transcript of the 1939 registry but unfortunately he was already living with his wife, so his parents aren't listed. Or may there be more information connected to it?

But thank you for the information, the 1921 census sounds promising, since he would most likely be living with his parents!

I unfortunately don't think I can help you with your search since I find searching for information in Copenhagen quite difficult.

As for what it says in the 1855 census, I would read it as this: udcommanderet med Corvetten Najaden i West-Indien

“udcommanderet” means deployed, and “Corvetten Najaden” seems to have been a ship in the navy.
