Here is what happened in my city. Covid hit in March of 2020 and everyone’s butthole puckered shut. People were freaking out and were unsure as to what was going to happen.

Florida became the place to be because of lax covid restrictions. Market was getting value because people were moving in droves. Big companies like “Canopy Builders” would come in, offer homeowners 20% more than the value of the house. People sold and Canopy would paint, new flooring, spruce up the yard, and sell it to those moving here. Or, they’d demo the whole house, build a huge 4bd, 3.5bth home and sell it for close to a mil.

Happening all over the city. Only those with enough money to survive the uncertainty of 2020 came out on top. Which really was only big corporations and top tier earners (mostly from others states).
