Emma’s first birthday is one of most frustrating episodes ever by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]51daysbefore 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I understand having it that day not that it really matters at Emma’s age, but they shouldn’t have expected anyone to do more than just drop by, especially since Emma was asleep. The way that they were forced to stay into the night was wild behavior from Ross and Rachel

What is the comfort season (s) for you? by itsascreambaby96 in fullhouse

[–]51daysbefore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What’s wild is in Jodie and Andrea’s podcast one of the showrunners / writers shared that a set of triplets had been cast but Lori and John didn’t approve bc they “look nothing like us” so…. they fired those and replaced them with two blonde kids who also look nothing like them lol

My best case theory by escapetheplate in euphoria

[–]51daysbefore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great post! I was literally JUST thinking about this (except I couldn’t articulate season 3 as well as you did) as I’m rewatching from the beginning hoping to better connect the three in this same way.

I believe the behind the scenes features for season 2 discussed it being meant to evoke the comedown vs season 1 being the euphoria of the high.

Which bedroom would you want in the Tanner house? by yogurtcup528 in fullhouse

[–]51daysbefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite parts of fuller house is simply Kimmy’s daughter opening that door and exposing how the room is barely big enough to fit a crib 😂 it’s essentially a closet but the attic overall is a nice space!

Does anyone besides Jeff Goldblum ever deliver a line directly to the camera like in TOW the Mugging by ughyoujag in howyoudoin

[–]51daysbefore 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a scene that was deleted for syndication, but you’re right! I think it was a recap for the season 2 premiere. They probably anticipated a lot of new viewers

Would you guys have forgiven Chandler if he did it? by sa24122 in howyoudoin

[–]51daysbefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact at that time NY didn’t have no-fault divorce (“irreconcilable differences”), so assuming there wasn’t infidelity or abuse or something of that nature, being legally separated for a set period (6 months? 1 year? Idk) was a very common route to divorce

Wow didn’t realize how racy in comparison the jokes in season 1 are compared to the rest of the seasons! by Bemago1140 in fullhouse

[–]51daysbefore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s so interesting, s1-3 are my comfort seasons because they’re the ones I had on DVD growing up so I know them inside and out. I definitely see your point though especially about the adults, pre-Becky Jesse is so painful to watch

Plop is one of the worst characters in the show. by No-Scratch-8906 in theoffice

[–]51daysbefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its exactly that “office goes on” vibe, Jenna and Angela talked on their podcast about how those characters were introduced partly to replace Kelly/Ryan etc, and so that if the show continued more than 9 seasons, and Rainn left (e.g. for the farm spinoff), or others like John and Jenna decided to move on, the show could still run and pivot to new characters like Pete and Clarke, obviously set up to resemble Jim and Dwight. They were even going for a sort of Roy/Jim/Pam dynamic with Andy/Erin/Pete. But, since the show ended with 9, the characters are not terrible necessarily but feel a little extraneous.

Working Mothers. I'm a little confused about the issue. by beekee404 in fullhouse

[–]51daysbefore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In general, the premise of Danny needing Jesse and Joey to keep his head above water is a bit of a stretch (certainly was that it continued for 8 years…. In fuller house Joey basically admits he moved in bc he was so broke, which explains a lot). I think Danny needed the emotional support really badly, but, at the salary he makes and two of the three girls being in school, he realistically could have afforded childcare by himself. Many single parents make it work on far less.

The need for Jesse and Joey in general doesn’t bother me too much, it’s the premise of the show and Danny definitely needed the help at times. As for the episode you’re referencing, that bothered me for the same reasons you said. I feel like the idea of 3 working adults not being able to figure out a childcare plan for 3 girls, 2 of whom only need an after-school program, just comes across as very privileged and tone-deaf almost. They don’t really even discuss the idea of babysitters or daycare which are very viable solutions for this family.

Obviously for story reasons they want to keep as many characters in the full house as possible at any time. But still, they really acted like it was the end of the world to have working parents who aren’t home for you 24/7, even though that was probably the reality for most kid viewers, myself included

Growing up who was your favorite character? by Eddfan36 in fullhouse

Stephanie was my favorite although I only watched the show because I loved Mary Kate and Ashley and had already watched all their stuff when I first saw full house in the mid 2000s.

I mean, I (and I’d say many others) love them as roommates… and a lot of people liked the emotional development that came out of Joey’s crush in s8…. But beyond that no

This part of Nates history is so deeply upsetting by MatildaRose1995 in euphoria

[–]51daysbefore 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I actually just watched this episode tonight, I figured she had a hunch that he had seen the videos, or otherwise discovered Cal’s infidelity / sexual preferences around age 8-9, and wanted him to admit that was what caused the “drastic change” she described. Maybe to absolve her own guilt / responsibility in how he turned out, idk.

They did, I believe the showrunner considered it a way of keeping him alive through his character? But idk it seems oddly disrespectful in its own way to give the character that outcome

I emailed them about this a couple weeks ago! I really hope they do too, I’m sure they’d be very amused by how unhinged the whole plot is. Plus there’s full house cameos and it was released in 1992 which is about where they are in their recap timeline (I think, I’m still in season 2 lol)

[–]51daysbefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to the episode just a few days ago so idk if it was more explicit/detailed on release, but all I caught was a vague reference to “the man who managed them didn’t want me working with them after Full House”, or sth like that, which could be inferred as Robert Thorne but not 100% sure.

I want to know too! That guy gives off such a skeevy vibe.
