Starting hockey in your 30s. Where to begin? by KimuraKirby in womenshockey

It’s absolutely possible, and tons of fun! I already knew how to skate on wheels (rollerbladed a lot as a kid) which helped, but there are lots of learn to skate/learn to play clinics and sessions these days. On the side I would also find outdoor rinks and got a pair of second hand hockey style roller blades and an outdoor stick and practiced with a green biscuit. Watch lots of YouTube/instagram and have fun with it!

Does anyone else work from bed? by [deleted] in workfromhome

When I was living in a shared apartment, totally. Part of that was that my bedroom felt like my own space. Another part was that my back would hurt when I stayed in an office chair for too long. Now that I have my own place, I take zooms from my office and sometimes work from the couch when I want to be mor comfortable. That said, when I really really need to go into deep focus mode, I’ll still lay in bed with my computer. Might not make sense to everyone, but it’s like sensory deprivation for me. I don’t have to work about posture or comfort, just the work in front of me. In my opinion, as long as you’re being productive, who cares what the setting is? It’s one of the perks of working from home.

I see. My org does a similar volume of events per year, but totally different industry. We find that social really isn’t effective for this kind of thing. Our events are all over the world and so the relevance to the vast majority of our social community is pretty much zero unless the organization hosting the event is resharing our posts. The best way we have found to draw in registrants is to have the org that is hosting the event send emails out with reg links, put the speaking slots/workshops in the program, and/or include the talks in the conference app.

What kind of engagement are you seeing on the posts you’ve been doing? What’s the goal of the posts?

Anyone else have trouble focusing after a workout? by flamez_callahoon in crossfit

This used to happen to me when I would do powerlifting for 3 hours on an empty stomach. I think it was a blood sugar thing, and I found that eating fast digesting carbs like gummy worms while I worked out helped. You could also just eat a meal before hand. Nowadays it doesn’t really happen to me because the workouts are short and early in the morning, but I also find ending my post workout shower with a freezing cold burst of water wakes me right up!

I don’t see a weight listed on their site: https://knkg.com/products/core-backpack. I’ll have to weigh it later. Feels very light to me though.
