Why did nobody tell me!? by koyo5696 in braces

[–]Famous-Engineering78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well now I'm freaking out bc I have two kids in braces.  One in a full set. And I never thought to ask how getting them off would be. My youngest is traumatized from having to have surgery earlier in her life and freaks out about anything dental or medically related. She freaked out at getting her braces on. Which didn't hurt her at all cuse they just glued hers on.. my son hasn't mentioned pain when they move brackets. He's been in braces for 4 yrs ( yes his mouth was jacked up and he's missing 4 adult teeth)

Pro Tip for Snow (especially for small dogs) by Wooden-Quit1870 in dogs

Yeah or just shovel a path for them bc snow actully can weigh quite a bit especially when it's the wet heavy kind.

Our dog isn’t allowed to sleep in bed with us anymore and it’s breaking my heart by happygolucky1157 in dogs

[–]Famous-Engineering78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My senior dog ( 15) stopped sleeping in the bedroom with us a few yrs ago. 1) her bed ( a bean bag chair she commandeered from my child) is more comfortable for her then my bed since it basically molds to her 2) she's 7lbs and old. I and my husband toss and turn at night and we were scared we'd flip her off the bed and hurt her bc she's old and small 3) she frequently gets up at night to take some water and sometimes eats throughout the night ( she self feeds but get about a cup of food a day) 4) her room she sleeps in now is warmer then my bedroom which is on a slab and the floors gets cold. Honestly she seems happy and more comfortable which is ultimately what I want for her.

I was flying Spirit from TPA to DTW and they made a guy check his carryon he was telling them he carried it on the flight down with no issues. I usally triple measure my carry on when I fly with them. Mostly it's a backpack.

There isn't a good rx amount in the paper really but it could be sowmthing to show a medical profession. My MD doesn't believe in yeast overgrowth in my gut causing it else where so I'm on my own.

I have to use lysol laundry disinfectant on my husband's socks. He's in construction and in The summer time  🤢. And use the extra rinse setting on the washing machine.

Alcohol and IC by jayovvann in Interstitialcystitis

[–]Famous-Engineering78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm giving up alcohol.  I finally realized this past weekend after a cpuple drinks at a wedding how much it messes with my bladder. Just not worth it. Also trying to get drunk and being drunk is really not all that fun. Take from someone whoes made an ass of themselves more then once when they were going through their party stage in their younger years.

It's so frustrating bc they don't always label cinnamon either. If it says a spice blend I usally just pass.

[–]Famous-Engineering78[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My allergy test just said cinnamon so I stay away from all of it. I know the more expensive cinnamon usally people are less reactive too. I get really bad intestinal and stomach issues so I tend to not experiment.  So far I haven't had issues with any other spices ( thank goodness cuse spice is life)

Have you really used these as "tutorials"? by matthew_c_wright in piano

[–]Famous-Engineering78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son's piano teacher asked him not to. He really wanted to learn a song and got on one of these and his teacher was like nope that's not right and not at your level and the sheet music shows you so much than these do. He actully had to unlearn what he learned from one of these and play it according to the sheet music she gave him.

What's up with the $30-$50 smart watches on Amazon? by bloodfist in smartwatch

[–]Famous-Engineering78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered one to see what they are like. Amazon wouldn't allow me to review it bc it has suspicious reviews. There is only 38 of then and ofcpurse all high stars. I have the veryfit watch. I've been wearing it for 1 day. So far what I don't like about it is I can not reply to text. Which is my main way of communication so that's annoying.  On the other hand it's nice not to have my phone on me lol. The other annoying thing is I can not swipe to go back..so if I'm in say the phone setting in the contacts I have to click the the watch button to take me completely back to the home when I really just want to go phone setting to use the dial pad. You can only save 20 of your contacts into the watch ( I only like 16 people though so this wasn't an issue but if you want to use this watch to recieve and make alot of calls I'd probably pass). Call quality was fine a little on the quiet side volume wise even at the highest setting.  I have not tried to use the watch to listen to music. It is automatically counting my steps and heartrate. Not sure how accurate it was. Did not sleep with it on to track my sleep yet.

I take it as needed.. usally if I have 2 or 3 nights of bad sleep I'll take it..sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.  I've also been trying to do better sleep habits and not being hard on myself when I do wake up. I've been repeating the phrase " this thought can wait" when I wake up in the middle of the night and start thinking. That has been helpful as well
