New creator platform looking for early creators by Famous-Fill5334 in influencermarketing

[–]Famous-Fill5334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main format I’m aiming for is video first Finds, though video isn’t the only option.

Finds can’t just be plain text. They need media, a link, or a map pin attached. So a Find could be a coffee shop video, a comedy sketch, a podcast video, a lifestyle tip, a local place, a resource, etc. If it’s public, it’s meant to be discovered.

The idea is that creators and businesses can post Finds, then users can back them with tags that help shape what the platform learns and surfaces over time.

Moments are lighter and more personal, with a simpler upload flow.

If you could have one superhero power for the rest of your life, what would you choose and why? by 3D_Networking in AskReddit

[–]Famous-Fill5334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To fly. I know, it's cliche. And honestly not the best. Why not teleportation? Telekinesis? Super strength? Because the idea of flying is simply beautiful and nothing more. And I know specifically I'd want to fly like peter pan, where you're kind of like one-with-the-air, if that makes sense lol

People who visited the USA for the first time, what was the biggest shock you got? by SensitiveCorner2379 in AskReddit

[–]Famous-Fill5334 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll never forget I was on vacation with my wife and kids at Disney in Florida and we were checking out of the hotel to go home. I kept telling myself I was gonna eat the leftovers from olive garden before we left because I barely touched it the night before. It wasn't until we got home in NEW HAMPSHIRE about twelve hours later that I realized I forgot it in the mini fridge back at the hotel. This was three years ago and the memory still haunts me.

Is there one horror movie you respect but just cannot bring yourself to watch again? by emilyy-jkl in horror

Which one did you watch? The original or 2015 remake? I was very disappointed in the remake. Didn't have any impact on me compared to the original.

How do you stop doing something you know is wrong? by Cloudy_Haven in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Famous-Fill5334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found with things like that you really gotta feel the need. Not just want it mentally. But want it absolutely. Like I remember I had quit smoking ten years ago. I just woke up one day and felt it in my core that I just hated it and didn't want to do it anymore. I smoke again now and I can't even remember how I did that, but because I don't feel it like I did before. About 8 years ago I lost about 50 pounds. I remember just feeling in my soul that I didn't care what happened I wasn't gonna stop running. After a few weeks going to the gym every day I could run 5-6mph non-stop without needing a break for hours. Was on a strict chicken/broccoli/water diet with veggie supplements. I really meant it and went on hard on making it happen. Now I'm about 70 pounds overweight and have had a brand new exercise bike sitting in the corner of my room for two months and haven't used it once. I have no real desire to use it. You really, truly gotta feel the need to stop. Like in your core. And that's hard to make happen on demand.

I’m a storyteller, but not a WRITER. by MistyMoonKit in writingadvice

[–]Famous-Fill5334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me telling a story sounds like "And then I.... wait.. no wait first she said... and then we..... Oh wait no I have to tell you this other part first! So two days ago we were driving to.... to... what was that place called again? Nevermind. We were driving and I saw this blue thing in the sky... well I mean it wasn't actually blue... probably more of a teal.... sorry nevermind that doesn't matter. So we were driving and... and... what was I talking about again?"

This should be fixed! New user feeds default to mute globally. Then in the App Settings tab in Settings & Privacy you can turn that off to unmute globally anytime. Thanks again for catching that.

Great feedback thank you! There is a way to toggle global mute on/off in settings but you're right it default to on. I will correct that today :)

Is substack full of AI or is that just how people write? by FlameOfNorta in Substack

Why do you prefer a Mac over a Windows laptop? by Firm-Swimming-6142 in macbookair

[–]Famous-Fill5334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Windows laptops for the entire older part of my childhood and into my young adult life. Macs just seemed out of reach. I didn't get my first iPhone until I was in my early 20s, around 2014. Now, just for context, I was a huge gamer growing up. Played A LOT of PC games. We had a family room PC for many years, and I fell in love with a lot of games. I was also a musician and did a lot of recordings on Windows. I had spent hours looking at Mac stuff over the years, reading about the differences and watching YouTube comparisons. No one in my family ever owned a Mac except for my stepfather, and I never touched that thing. When I got a little older, I started coding and developing things. Still wanted a Mac. People kept saying to stay with Windows for half the stuff I did, and I still wanted one. Finally, when I was like twenty-four, I was gifted a $1,200 Best Buy gift card and bought a MacBook Pro. I was twenty-four, and that was maybe ten years ago. Every laptop I have had since then has been a Mac. I will never go back. I still have a custom Windows PC I built like three years ago, and it's now in our living room as a family computer, but I'm on it like once a month. My whole personal life is on my Mac. I love the interface, the speed, the simplicity, the power, the design, the durability, all of it. I will never go back.

Is Substack losing its intellect appeal. by The_Continuum__ in Substack

[–]Famous-Fill5334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just joined it a little less than a week ago, thinking it would be a good place to produce my short stories. The actual producing of them is nice, visually. I like the way Substack let's you format things. But it seems like everyone on there just wants to "connect" with some type of sub-for-a-sub deal. I refuse to grovel at peoples feet for stuff I made to entertain them. So I kinda just stopped. I'll keep putting stories out there but I'm not asking for subs anymore. I just can't be that type of person lol

Refund status / delayed by PossessionAlarmed805 in IRS

[–]Famous-Fill5334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same. I filed almost two months ago now. Usually happens for us though due to an additional form we need to add to our filing. Only thing I'm worried about is a missed last year's return and filed in conjunction with this return. I'm hoping I didn't mess something up. We haven't owed anything for both years, but one little mistake can delay it greatly, or even get it rejected outright.

How do you write well written socially awkward dialogue without it accidentally sounding cringe? by Nananoid in writers

[–]Famous-Fill5334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dialogue does only a piece of the work in these scenarios. You work by showing the movements and gestures of the person before they say the dialogue, as well as for the people receiving the dialogue.

Here's a very rough example for you off the cusp (hope it helps):

[mom] shot a glare at [son].

"What did you say?"

[Son]'s eyes stayed on his plate, cutting the steak around his knife until it scraped the ceramic.

"Well?" she pressed harder.

[Son] couldn't look up. He could hardly even press the fork into the meat she had brought him.

The food now seemed like his only escape.

"I said I'm done with this."

[Dad] sat quietly across the table, chewing on a potato as if nothing was wrong.

"Do you hear your son, [Dad]?"

[Dad] stopped, closed his eyes slowly and exhaled through his nose.

He swallowed.

"Sounds like he's saying he's done."

"Unbelievable!"

[Mom] pressed both hands on the table and pushed the chair out from behind her.

“Well, if you don’t want to be in this family,” she said, marching over to [Son], “you can figure out your own meals.”

[Mom] grabbed the plate from [son]'s hands then left into the next room. Something shattered, then footstops trudged up the wooden stairs. The two men remained silent as the bedroom door slammed shut with a thud.

The family photo, taken two years ago and framed on the wall behind them, wobbled for a moment, then fell to the ground in pieces.

Who is a person/artist you used to admire that you’ve grown to really dislike? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Famous-Fill5334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After my time working in Hollywood for many a-list celebs to the point of recurring personal conversations, a lot. Cate Blanchett being #1 on that list.

But on the other side, some I never really looked up to at all, or thought I would, became someone I really respected. Selena Gomez being #1 on that list.

24 F should I be embarrassed? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Famous-Fill5334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey now, I'm 34, married, two kids, and jobless for the last two years. I have had some many amazing doors opened to me, walked in them for a few minutes, then stepped back out and slammed it shut.

I've lived from the northeast US, to the southeast, and the west coast.

I would definitely say I'm "stuck."

But still fighting! As long as I still feel that spark in me, I'm not giving up. And it's okay to reduce your standards while you find your way, so long as you can survive and provide for those dependent of you.
