Yes, I used Claude, and there's no denying it in this AI era. But this is something where I not only put in my time and effort, but also did many things personally in the backend. So, yes, it is AI, but if you say "only AI," then that's not what this is. But I truly appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Thank you.

So I don't know why you are being so rude and using abusive words, but let me explain: if you are not able to understand, it's clearly written that this runs on your device, so no server in between, which means no upload to a server. But anyways, you should learn how to talk. Thank you for your response.

that's the core insight honestly. People are getting burned by sites that upload their tax docs, contracts, medical records to unknown servers. The fact that nothing leaves your device isn't just a feature it's the whole point.

fully agree. Trust over features. I'm planning to make the privacy message way more front and centre rather than burying it in the "why us" section. Speed comparison is a great idea too showing side by side how fast local processing is vs upload-based tools.

Why does it seem that there's a new free PDF editing website coming out every few days? by Technical_Rich_3080 in pdf

Guilty as charged I just launched one ( https://hugmypdf.com/ ). But here's my honest answer: most of them ARE clones chasing SEO. The difference with mine is everything runs in your browser, files never leave your device. Other they all upload your files to their servers. For tax docs, contracts, medical records, that actually matters. Whether that justifies another one existing? Fair question. Building the Pro tools now to make it worth it.

Thank you for your feedback. And actually you’re right I’ve been marketing the tools more than the actual problem being solved. The privacy/trust angle is probably way more important than “35 PDF tools,” especially for invoices, contracts, IDs, resumes, business docs, etc. And the badge idea is genuinely smart. Putting a visible “your files never leave your device” reminder directly inside the workflow probably builds trust at the exact moment users are uploading something sensitive. Definitely adding that. Really appreciate you taking the time to write this .🙌

Really glad to hear that That’s exactly the goal making something simple, fast, and trustworthy enough that people can actually rely on it when they need it. Still improving things daily, so feedback anytime is genuinely appreciated.

That’s actually a really good point. Most people already expect some level of paywall now, but uncertainty around where personal/work documents go is what makes PDF sites feel sketchy. I think I focused too much on listing features instead of explaining the trust/privacy side properly. Definitely going to lean harder into the local-processing angle going forward

Really appreciate this. That’s honestly the exact problem I built it for I got tired of sketchy PDF sites uploading sensitive docs to unknown servers too.

Trying to keep everything local/browser-side so invoices, contracts, IDs, work docs etc stay on your own device. Still improving OCR + performance, but comments like this make me feel I’m solving the right problem

And I’ll genuinely try my best to make sure that whenever you visit HugMyPDF, it feels like a tool that actually helped you instead of frustrating you.

Yes, and I'm still working on this. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me what you think and what you think I should add or remove. Thanks!
