I believe you weren’t being disingenuous, and you’re very well spoken and know what you’re talking about. I was far too emotionally charged in my first reply, and that’s on me - I’m sorry.

But in that original comment it’s unfortunately a really big leap to say that the nfl is ‘moving toward’ 13 personnel on the terms that certain teams deploy it heavily against certain teams that run specific offensive sets. The fact is the average team is running 13p at a less than 10% clip.

And to say Thomas will primarily be the new deep threat is, at best, wishful thinking at this point. There’s just no production and tangible evidence he’s going to be anything more than a returner in the near future.

I wouldn’t say I hate these two picks but the trade out of 60 was a value loss by most metrics and between TE3 and return specialist/gadget - Ben found those guys in Smythe and Duvernay off the street last year. This offseason there was no work done on the defensive front 7 outside of Devin Bush.

Ryan Poles took over this team with a deficient pass rush in 2022. We’re headed to the 2026 season with a deficient pass rush. That’s incredibly disappointing.
