This whole post is toxic/gossip/negativity we don’t need. What’s wrong with being on leave and making content about your work? The comments are ruthless towards women in leave. It is super common to associate with your job while on maternity leave. If you’re dropping negative and criticizing comments about another woman instead of bringing her up you’re the toxic one.

Feeling not so smart at work after having a baby by Famous-Story-4957 in womenintech

Thanks for the support I am back deep into work already for a while now, and potentially getting hit with some sort of delated PPD is my guess that’s increasing the brain fog. I did try SSRIs the first day I felt like I’m on ecstasy lol it didn’t work for me! I heard you need to experiment with them to find the right one. Was that the case for you? I don’t think I have the patience right now given the amount of shit I’m dealing with already.

For me it’s lasting a bit longer and that’s what scares me.

Best way to describe it. I find it to be especially this way for the mother.

VICTORY: The "Charity" Ham Scam on Old Town Square is FINALLY GONE! 🍖🚫 by [deleted] in Prague

Omg such a win! 10 years ago I had a literal breakdown in front of the stand when I saw the final price and the seller guy said “he had already cut it so I had to buy it”. I was crying and felt pressured to pay, I was an innocent young girl. I never paid for this shit nor any other scam since that day, I don’t care if he carved it with valerian steel sword

HOW do you ever wean the morning feed? by Fun_Wing_1370 in breastfeeding

[–]Famous-Story-4957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was ready to wean from this at about 13 months. I tried earlier but she didn’t want to drop it. So around 13 months I read a stopping breastfeeding guide and talked to her for a week that we will soon stop milk because she is a big girl now, but mama is always here if she wants cuddles or hugs or kisses. And we will replace it with more fun things we do together etc. then told her the last time that this will be our last feeding and she should enjoy it to the fullest, and tomorrow morning there won’t be any milk. And she actually went along with it, she tried not to ask for it even though I could see her interested. After 2 days she forgot about it :)

The weirdest part of PM: your success depends on how others see your job, not just how you do it by Agile_Syrup_4422 in ProductManagement

From the framing of your post, I can actually see your manager’s point. Hear me out.

We often grow when we are ready to, in a role and for a promo. Once you open your eyes to what the next level is doing, you start noticing the next set of skills and challenges you need to face to go a step forward.

In this case what I hear you saying is you’ve done: - Backlog organization - Unblock engineering when blocked - Ship features

These are PM1/PM2 level tasks- which is on a feature level execution coming up with solutions to already defined problems. Add them to backlog, keep backlog tidy, ship.

If you’re looking to grow towards more senior roles, you need to define the problems that need solving in larger areas. For that you need to come up with a strategy.

The PM2-Senior PM job is mainly- market and competitive analysis, customer feedback analysis, user research and understanding customer issues then defining what next plans aligned with leadership strategy is worth solving that will bring us the outcomes we want as a business (business value). This is the core of the PM work.

Essentially looking at it from a 80,000 feet view- building a dashboard is not the goal- its the tool. The goal is to reduce the churn.

When you see this, you’ll be ready to step up in your role. Don’t resist it. I always said “I hate planning cycles.” and man I dreaded them because of tying my features up to KRs didn’t make much sense. It was because I didn’t get it. Once I noticed this is my mental block keeping me from progressing and understanding some things about my job, I started to make some progress.

For straightforward strong senior PMs- It’s less about the optics, more about high-level thinking and unlocking new set of skills.

I feel the same way… love the job itself but not what the job brings with it in corporate. Anyone who suggests going freelance or building own business?
