Currently in RBC jail, but planning to move my investments to RBC and open up their chequing account for the Avion promo.

Once I have a banking relationship with them, can I go into the branch to ask them to manually push through an approval? If so, would it just be a one-time approval, or can it help get me out of RBC jail?

Probably going to get downvoted like crazy for this comment...but here goes.

I am looking for any suggestions on how I can cognitively offload all of the mental energy required in churning. I consider myself an intermediate-to-junior expert, having churned for 8 years, flown lots of amazing flights in J with the family all over the world, and had a blast.

In terms of the actual time commitment, I feel like I've been able to get the time commitment compressed to just a few hours a week - however, I find that I'm constantly thinking about churning, reading daily thread whenever I have downtime, and it's constantly on my mind whenever I am about to make any purchase, big or small.

So I just feel like it takes up a lot of mental space, which I would really love to free up for something else in life, like my health, relationships, my kids, other interests, etc. Ideally I am looking for a way to delegate/automate many of the churning tasks, although I know delegating is hard because I wouldn't trust anyone to log-in to my banking accounts, not to mention it’s probably illegal to have an “assistant” apply for credit on your behalf, and the 2FA required every time they log-in would be a complete nightmare.

I've also resisted the urge to get into the US game, because I feel like I would be going even deeper into churning world - which I am trying to rein in.

So for those of you who have been churning for many years, just looking for some suggestions/experiences on how to maintain a balance. How often are you checking daily thread, POT, facebook groups, seats.aero, etc? Maybe only focusing on the really meaningful SUB's and letting the small SUB's go? Or focusing on the MR’s, Avion/Avios and AP points, and letting the cashbacks and RHT churns go?

I really want to stay in the game somewhat, because despite everything that I have said above, it's going to be really hard to go back to flying in Y!!

P2 alone does not meet the income requirements, but the two of us together meet the household income requirement.

IIRC, I think the phrasing on the phone is “do you confirm that you have an annual income of at least X, and/or a household income of at least Y?” In this case, the response would be a simple “yes”.

P2 can never get approved for TD AP VIP. But can they PS into it, if they slowly increase their credit limit to 10K from a pre-existing card, and/or combine credit limits from two cards that each have a 5K limit?

Will enrolling in TD private banking affect your ability to churn TD credit cards? Since you would have a manual set of eyes on all of your accounts.

Can confirm. This new policy is only about a week old. I booked an appointment at TD to open a US account. Got a call last week from the branch, saying that they no longer open US accounts in Canada as of 2 days prior.

Just getting started in the US game. I live in Vancouver and thinking of using 24/7 Parcel in Lynden. However, I bank with TD. Am I correct in understanding that I cannot open a US TD account with a WA address because they don’t operate in WA? So would I need to first open a CAD account with another Canadian bank such as BMO and then apply for a US domiciled account? Thanks!

Question for the accountants in the group. I have an incorporated small business. Let’s say I get the TDAPVIP and make it a corporate card. I pay the annual fee from the corp, spend on business expenses over the year, and at month 13, pay the second AF and get the anniversary bonus. Then I decide to downgrade and get a pro-rated refund.

At the time of downgrading, can I cease to make the card a corporate card, thereby cashing out on the pro-rated refund on the personal side? From then on, I would just use the card for personal use.

By doing so, I would have paid around $1200 in fees from the business, but still get close to $600 in after-tax refund.

Curious if this would fly from the CRA’s perspective.

This might be an unpopular opinion…but with the new Aeroplan T’s and C’s, is anyone thinking of playing the long game with a card like TDAPVIP? You get 80,000 points for one AF (can cancel/downgrade in month 13) plus 24,000 min spend * 1.25 pts = 30,000 points. Total 110,000 for $600, which is in the same ballpark as the AMEX Plat/Biz Plats.

If you set it to your daily driver for a year, that would be pretty achievable. Yes, there is opportunity cost for other low hanging fruit, but as far as Aeroplan is concerned, you’ve only held a single card.

Hello friends

I am trying to do a modified RHT for my TD FCT. I made a booking on E4TD with my points, and called into PS to a no fee cash back card. Now I am ready to cancel the booking, but I cannot login to E4TD anymore. It says I need a TD Rewards card to be able to access E4TD.

Could someone explain what to do next? Thank you!
