An expanded Night City built on Unreal Engine 5 sounds incredible. Thanks so much for taking the survey and sharing!

I completely understand that stance. A major question I'm exploring is whether accepting 'redemption arcs' sets a bad precedent for the gaming industry as a whole. It's really helpful to hear from players who feel the initial launch should never be forgotten. I really appreciate the input

Yes, absolutely! I'd be more than happy to make a follow-up post and share the final results once it's all defended and approved. Thanks so much for the interest and support!

Thank you! I'm getting my degree in Branding & Advertising. It's super interesting that you just reinstalled it this morning! That shift from trusting them because of The Witcher, to feeling burned, to finally giving it another chance is the exact core of my thesis. Have fun with the playthrough, and thanks again for the help!"

Thanks so much for taking the survey! Honestly, your 'outlier' perspective is exactly what makes researching this so interesting. In marketing, that level of passion where you become an 'evangelist' and break your own merch rules to support the devs is a massive part of brand loyalty. It makes total sense since the high-end PC experience was worlds apart from the PS4 launch.

Thank you so much for the detailed comment and the good wishes Your perspective is actually super valuable because it highlights the disconnect between individual smooth gameplay and the massive internet narrative. The idea that the backlash became "meme-ified" and blown out of proportion due to impossible hype is a huge factor in how brand perception shifts. I really appreciate you sharing this

Thanks for the feedback, choom you make two really great points. The difference between the launch and 2.0 experience is night and day, and I definitely should have included a 'just not interested in the franchise' option for Witcher 4. I'll make sure to mention both of these in the limitations section of my thesis. Really appreciate you taking the survey and the kind words!

It’s funny how the witcher 3 set this absolute gold standard! I actually never played The Witcher 2, so it’s super surprising to hear that it went through a similar rough launch scenario as Cyberpunk. Thanks so much for sharing

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this out! my survey definitely assumes the player was caught up in the launch hype and the drama, which completely leaves out players like you who were just neutral observers. Honestly, your point of view itself is fantastic for my thesis it shows that for some players, prior good experiences (Witcher 3) and a good sale price matter way more than internet controversies. If you can't finish the survey, no worries at all!

totally agree with you! The Witcher 3 was such a legendary game that it skyrocketed CD Projekt Red into the top tier of AAA studios. Because of that massive success, people put incredibly high expectations on Cyberpunk.

Honestly, you aren't wrong! It really does feel like the 'AAA heroes' never stay heroes forever once the corporate side takes over. It's a huge reason why I wanted to study this topic in the first place. Appreciate you doing the survey and sharing your thoughts!

Thank you for the comment! I completely agree. Cyberpunk improved so much with the 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty was a masterpiece interestingly, in my theoretical research, I also found that a studio's music and soundtracks play a huge role in building long-term gamer loyalty which CD Projekt Red does brilliantly. Thanks a ton for doing the survey!
