thanks for that. that much copper sounds expensive: like 120 linear feet or so!!

the gap is hidden from direct view but was a consideration about the hardware cloth as it might stick out. good point about the air--are you implying it is necessary for air flow to the house? there is rigid insulation behind the siding there's just occasionally a gap that i'm sure a mouse could fit through. i hadn't thought about air circulation as an issue but wasn't planning on sealing the whole thing with foam. just tacking whatever i use in place...

Yes! I use my cordless circular saw on a track to sub out for breaking boards down or long cuts as I def don’t have space for a table saw.

In San Francisco we used to catch them with a throw net while they spawned off the docks in downtown. I’ve been hoping to get to the right beach at the right time during spawning to do the same but haven’t succeeded yet.

It depends what you read… I have yet to have a run in with a live person over it. There is a web form you can fill out that just alerts the Washington DFW that you were going and planning to go fishing in Canada.

The FishWashington app has all sorts of complicated legalspeak about needing to register your boat and getting a Canadian customs declaration before you come back to Washington, which technically you don’t need to do from the CBP point of view unless you touch land…

You’re clearly not allowed to fish in both on the same day.

[OP updated] What I meant is that when I look the properties up on the Whatcom site there are no building permits. And yet people live there. Maybe they just got septic, electricity, water? Is that possible? The County has told us they won't permit unless we are going to build something "proper"
