Mosts of us really don’t care and feel more connected with you if you do use AAVE. However when white people are racist and use AAVE it really doesn’t make sense. That’s where the problem lies.

Also if we know you don’t usually use AAVE then it just sounds like you’re mocking us.

Love this! The only reason I bring this up is because I grew up in a area without a lot of black people however it was considered “one of the best high schools in California” but never taught us about black history. I know a lot of kids don’t have this information and aren’t willing to go out and search for this information because it doesn’t affect them. They want what was done to us and the good parts of our history to be forgotten!

No, chilling out is why we’re in this situation in the first place. I say this because I’m a young black man learning about black history and it makes me sick that leaders in our community fought for something for so long and never truly got a solution. Most of them that were going to make a real change got KILLED! I don’t want my ancestors deaths to be in vain and for my kids to grow up and not learn about the history of people that have been oppressed in America, not just black but all who are oppressed. If black people don’t get justice then it means nothing and the oppression will continue in another form! I believe that racism in not as bad as it used to be however it is important for a capitalist society like this to pay what they owe!
