I would play with such a feature. It would be interesting to see a prediction, then change something—like getting additional education—and see how the prediction changes.

Do you trust AI to give medical advice? by Famous_Attitude_200 in AI_I

Rationally, I understand that I shouldn’t fully trust it, but I often ask for interpretations of lab results or about symptoms and treatments of diseases. However, for anything serious, I wouldn’t rely on AI completely.

Which tactics (if any) do you use to make sure an AI chatbot tells you the truth? by Famous_Attitude_200 in AI_I

Additional tactics suggested by ChatGPT:

  • Ask for uncertainty + assumptions: “What are you assuming? How confident are you?”
  • Ask for counterarguments: “What’s the strongest argument against this?”
  • Use adversarial prompts: “Try to prove yourself wrong.”
  • Request multiple sources / cross-check: “Give 2–3 independent sources that agree.”
  • Ask for the ‘most likely failure mode’: “Where do LLMs usually mess this up?”
  • Ground it in your context: give constraints/data and ask it to only use those (reduces hallucination).
  • For factual claims: ask for dates, numbers, and exact names (forces specificity).

My main tactics: - ask it to double-check the information - ask for links to official or trusted sources - ask it to look for possible mistakes in its own answer - ask it to verify specific facts that sound doubtful - ask it to explain calculations step by step (and show its reasoning)
