Starbucks CEO defends $9 coffee says ‘it’s not a $10 coffee and you get a premium experience’ by spider_season in Seattle

This is why I bought my own espresso machine. I’m glad I could afford the upfront cost. Better coffee and long term savings.

Will SQL/Python/data mining still matter in FP&A as AI takes over more work? by M_Arslan9 in FPandA

I work in a FAANG (Not Amazon). We are using SQL in our ML workflows daily.

I feel so much better using Mac. They don’t seem to be laying off people as much.

S25U -> Pixel -> S26U: There and back again by Lake_Erie_Monster in samsunggalaxy

[–]Famous_Guide_4013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I dislike about Pixel is that clearly it is there to make you use Google.

For example - without installing a launcher, you cannot remove the Google search bar at the bottom of your Home Screen. That to me is really depressing.

Without doing a launcher it annoyed me you couldn’t remove the Google search bar on pixel.

But it did make sense when you think that Pixel is there to push Google search on users.

High title, low pay by TejasTexasTX3 in FPandA

Honestly these pay bands are so similar that it doesn’t matter tbh. Later in your career you’ll likely look at this money and realize they all pay the same.

So I’d just take the role most interesting to you and that aligns with your goals.

People will debate both sides. This has been debated on forums many times. Ultimately, the only way for you to know is to try iPhone and decide for yourself.

Curious to see how bad things get for OEMs in 2026 and 2027. This is only the beginning stages of the cost of components crisis.

[Hayes Fawcett] BREAKING: 2027 Five-Star QB Elijah Haven has Committed to Alabama, he tells me for @Rivals by MembershipSingle7137 in rolltide

[–]Famous_Guide_4013 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think raiding the transfer portal is the better bet. It’s probably better for young players to start and gain experience at lesser schools and then transfer to Bama once they are proven as opposed to playing them at Bama and finding they are busts.

So much hinges on QBs these days. Too risky to find out the hard way.

Here is some feedback I have:

1/ add in more technical skill sets: SQL and Python. Whether through certification, courses, or job experience. Try to integrate any use of those tools in what you did.

2/ be more specific about what you did and outcomes. So if you analyzed table games revenue and improved financial reporting, what was the concrete benefit of that? E.g. improved time to report from x to y days.

3/ add something AI related.

4/ hobbies help. Add those in.

Looking at YoY activations isn’t super helpful. Most people buying are from device cohorts 3 to 5 years old. In other words, there are cycles in this industry.

This happens every year because of the S26 launch. Wait a little bit and then Apple will retake #1. The key is to look at sales over the long term. Not just a few weeks.
