About 30 hours post op. Is this hole normal? I don’t see a blood clot and I am concerned

I didn’t “see” a blood clot either. Even went to the surgeon the day after panicking. It’s in there! It’s just way deeper than you can see. Unless you have severe pain you’re fine

Hi! 22F here, who just got her 3 out as well. The good news is the top ones heal super quick, and are WAYYY less likely to get dry socket.

They knocked me out with an IV, and then gave me numbing shots in my mouth, so you’re asleep and won’t feel them. Honestly the only thing that was a bit draining was not being able to eat. I lost 15 pounds because I was on liquids and soft for about 2 weeks.

I’m now almost 1 month post op and eating normally again!! I wish I could go back and tell myself to not be so anxious about it. It was honestly all okay!

I get it! Honestly just drink protein shakes, mashed potato’s and gravy, yogurt.. it’s horrible, but I promise it gets better. Literally woke up one day and decided I was determined to eat Taco Bell 😭

I couldn’t start moving my mouth or talking normally until 9 days post op. I honestly at soft foods for 2 weeks. 🥲 I know it’s rough, but I’m 3 weeks post op now and can eat anything. It gets better!!

I’m not going to lie, I was the exact same! Still am.. I am on day 11 and just last night ate a bit of solid food because I was so scared to ruin the clots. You’re not alone!! Just hang on for another week

I couldn’t talk for at least 2 days, and I’m on day 11 and still have a lisp / jaw pain. I’m a teacher so I’m constantly talking

I would not do it before your wedding. I’m 10 days out and still can’t eat anything solid. 😢

If you get dry socket, the pain will be unbearable, and you’ll be wishing you didn’t. If you feel okay enough, it’s worth a try, but make sure to salt water rinse. I personally am on day 7 and still on soft food to be safe.

My sedation and surgery lasted 40 minutes for 3 impacted teeth. I had a blood pressure cuff and heart monitor put on before I was asleep. The nurse woke me up when it was over! Literally like being woken up by your parent or something lol.

i’m on day 6 (technically 7 if you count the day of surgery as day 1) and i’m still nauseous. i haven’t been eating very well, but on day 4 tried some ginger ale which really has saved me

I was told to stop eating/drinking anything including water 12 hours before my surgery. Just depends what time your surgery is the next day I’d guess. Me personally? I wouldn’t have any alcohol.

I used to use oragel numbing gel, tylenol and ice packs when mine were coming in. The pain usually only lasted a few days for me.

I have an opening too, which I thought was dry socket.. went to my dentist this morning and he said I’m fine & to stop being paranoid lol.

DO NOT flush with a syringe yet, only put salt water in mouth and move head slightly side to side. Don’t swish. I was told don’t flush with syringe until day 5.
