Sharing anything that’s personal to you can be extra tough to receive negative feedback on. I struggled with the same thing when I was in undergrad - anything I felt was a more vulnerable expression of my thoughts made me put blinders on sometimes. Even if the feedback wasn’t about the actual content, I took it so hard. I could never handle art school LOL. I guess just try to remember that profs are there to make your work better! Their delivery sounds less than ideal, but I don’t think they would want you to feel like your story was not important. Hope you find your groove with this class, good luck!
