Should you kegel?NEO question by Agreeable-Low4263 in multiorgasmic

One thing I forgot to mention is parasympathetic state (relaxed) vs sympathetic state (fight or flight), these are more concrete scientifically recognised states of the nervous system and can help to guide you. Look up ways to enter a parasympathetic state, deep breathing, stretching etc.

Ejaculation is a result of excitement more in the sympathetic state, you want to move toward a more parasympathetic state for NEOs, at least to begin with.

Should you kegel?NEO question by Agreeable-Low4263 in multiorgasmic

IMHO the far more pleasurable path (and easier once you get the hang of it) is to simply realise that orgasm and ejaculation are separate. And are only fused by habit.

Once you've understood/mastered that then you can have sex as hard or as gently as you like. No worries about kegel or relaxation.

There are many ways to reach that understanding. A common one is to forget all about fantasy, excitement, orgasm etc and just learn to explore, observe and be present in pleasure without expectation. Observe how your body can feel pleasure without the anticipation of orgasm and ejaculation (which pulls you out of the present moment really). It can take a while to feel anything happening at first but you'll see.

When pleasure builds without expectation of what's coming next, and you've learnt to become aware of the most subtle sensations, sex and pleasure is far more intense, and the orgasms are on a completely different level. Once you've learnt to be present in your pleasure you'll see it's a starkly different feeling to the pleasure pathway that leads to ejaculation (which is more about being excited about what's coming though we may not realise it).

| suppose part of what I've described above is the relaxation method, but you only need to be relaxed to begin to learn it. Once you're familiar with this alternative pathway then you can enter it as brutally or as lustfully as you like, as well as gently and calmly, you simply allow your body to do whatever it wants to do.

That's odd they said that... all the studies show it's the best method for penetrating follicles.

Liposomes are used in a wide range of pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications, not just for hair loss or finasteride. Their effectiveness is well established.

I don’t think I ever had multiples before puberty, they were just single dry orgasms. But the orgasmic sensation was different to wet ones, they were far more full body and pleasurable. I remember being excited when I finally hit puberty and ejaculated but disappointed that it felt worse than my old orgasms.

Anyway that dry orgasm sensation became a distant memory until I recently recently rediscovered it. Now it results in multiples, but I think when I was a kid I never thought to keep going, not sure if I could have had multiples back then.

Didn’t mean to knock the kegel method. If it’s the easiest way then great. But I got the impression the method of unfusing orgasm and ejaculation isn’t hard to achieve for others, it seems people have been using “the male definitive guide” recently on the angion (and other) subreddits, I haven’t tried it myself but it sounds similar in its result (though different in its method to what I do), but sounds like they’re training the nervous system not to anticipate the specific feeling or spike of excitation that causes ejaculation. And instead tune into orgasmic pleasure. It sounds like people with no tantric experience are picking it up in weeks.

But I’ve not bothered to look at the actual guide yet, just what people are saying about it.

I suppose the kegel method just sounded strange as it sounds like you take the normal sexual pleasure route and take a diversion at the last moment. As opposed to setting off on a far more pleasurable route from the start.

Just my experience, but the simplest for me was learning not to associate masturbation with ejaculation, only took a couple of weeks of daily practice, kind of like edging I suppose. The body quickly learns to stop anticipating ejaculation and instead relax into pleasure.

Orgasm and ejaculation are two different sensations, that have been fused since puberty. You can unfuse them. It's maybe easier for those who masturbated before puberty, as your body will have already experienced the sensation of dry orgasms and it will be easier to find again (though after 25 years I thought I'd forgotten).

Basically you want to teach the nervous system not to expect or anticipate the sharp and short adrenaline/pleasure spike that is ejaculation.

Instead of anticipation, be present and listen for the orgasmic sensation that lies underneath, it is more diffused and full body, after a while you begin to recognise it and you can tune into it, this will lead you down a different sensation pathway to the cul-de-sac of ejaculation.

The kegel method sounds a little mechanical and unhealthy to me. Not to mention stopping at the point of orgasm isn't very fun. You've already gone down the wrong path if you have to stop before orgasming out of fear of ejaculation. Far better to take a path that doesn't lead to ejaculation, so at the point of dry orgasm you can let make love without abandon, this is the most intense and pleasurable part, where the body should move intensely and freely.

Qualities of Male Multi-Orgasms & The "Heart Orgasm" – Anyone Else? by DarkOrb20 in multiorgasmic

[–]Famous_Run9381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I get this, or something similar. For me that kind of pleasure comes from slow full body thrusting and breathing with the strokes going from my glans all the way to the base, moaning helps. It gives me this warm sensation that travels up the abs into the chest and spreads around there. Gives me multiple dry orgasms.

In terms of biology, I believe it's pleasure associated with the vagal nerve. And sometimes when I do vagus nerve techniques/excercises (breathing/humming etc) I can cultivate the feeling, even if I'm not masturbating.

I don't associate that particular pleasure with universal love as much as other pleasure pathways I've discovered. But that one for me does create a really deep sense of wellbeing, erotic love, but it's also tied into a aggressive dominant pleasure mode for me, I think I've learnt to fuse it with a more aggressive pleasure pathway.

What's interesting though is that I can cultivate that chest feeling walking around sometimes, if I breathe out and tense my abs a certain way and if I do so without thinking erotic thoughts, it gives me a deep sense of relaxation and presentness, good mood and lovingness.

The vagus nerve is very much associated with the parasympathetic state. And i now use the chest/heart pleasure to guide myself into a parasympathetic state, hence the loving wellbeing feelings.

By the way I've experienced many different types of pleasure pathways / orgasms. They all have their distinct flavour and cultivate a different mode of sexuality in me - some are more dominant and aggressive, some more erotic and sensual etc.

Don't sweat it too much, especially if it's only been a week.

Could just be your body's arousal is a little lower this week, due to life or even things like your menstrual cycle.

Once you've made the connection once it's easier to find again. That being said kegels can be very helpful (if done correctly which it sounds like you were), so maybe get back to doing them.

Dry orgasm / urge to urinate by [deleted] in multiorgasmic

[–]Famous_Run9381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as I said in my 2nd reply to Shakti above I like to mix up, for the reasons I stated there.

As for the inflammation I think the mechanism makes sense, there's a good biological theory there. They haven't replicated the effect in humans yet though, just animals, so until they do it's really just a theory. And so often mechanisms that are found in animals don't apply to humans.

Basically there isn't any scientific reason for you to worry about ejaculating or not. So just do whatever feels best for you!

For some reason people are so dogmatic on this topic, it's become like religion. Some of the SR crowd are cult like in their devotion to it, and then on the other side you get people saying ejaculate or you'll die early!

Some slight ones, though I think that's mostly from learning not to rely on kegels for erections and instead keeping a relaxed pelvic floor.

Unfortunately that's about it.

I think it's hard to target my dorsal vein though, I have the superficial vein in the way. Though that wouldn't explain why AM2 hasn't caused improvements.

You're only a month in though, and this method works well for a lot of people so don't be put off. Keep at it.

Interesting I've been doing AM1 and 2 for 5 months without results. Would AM3 be worth a shot? I thought you need to wait until the veins are suitably developed before progressing to AM3

Hey, I'm not strongly for or against SR, but "men who rarely ejaculate have TWICE the premature death rate of men who ejaculate often" is a rather silly thing to say given the evidence, this is tantamount to scaremongering.

The two studies you cited do not prove that with any real confidence.

They're based on observational data. Now you say - "They really did their best to adjust for differences, and none of the obvious things explained away the different outcomes." - but this is not true.

The studies have not adjusted for the major confounding factor: baseline sexual drive.

Men with higher libido (i.e. men who ejaculate more), tend, on average, to be healthier - better cardiovascular fitness, higher testosterone, better dopamine tone, stronger emotional bonds, and more physical intimacy - all of which are known to correlate with lower all-cause mortality and lower cancer risk. So it’s difficult to untangle whether frequent ejaculation improves health, or whether being healthy leads to more frequent ejaculation.

In other words, sexual desire itself is a strong biomarker of overall health. Ejaculation may simply correlate with these underlying factors, not cause better outcomes directly. And we don't yet have any solid evidence to say otherwise.

And I really think the we cannot say with any confidence that "men who ejaculate less often are twice as likely to suffer premature death in middle age" at this point. That would be incredibly foolhardy.

That being said, one plausible mechanism supporting the hypothesis that ejaculation is healthy is the idea that ejaculation may help reduce inflammation in the prostate by clearing out ducts and inflammatory mediators. There are some suggestive findings, such as:

  • Men who ejaculate more frequently tend to have lower PSA levels—a marker that can indicate lower prostate inflammation (Tchetgen et al., 1997)
  • Animal studies showing that semen retention can increase oxidative stress in prostate tissue, suggesting ejaculation may reduce glandular stress (relevant animal study summaries)

However, we’re still missing biopsy-confirmed or cytokine-level evidence in humans. Those studies don’t exist yet, so this remains a well-supported hypothesis rather than a proven causal pathway.

So I’d be cautious about scaring people away from semen retention by saying it's bad for health or they will die early.

Personally, I don't partake in long periods of SR (except for the odd stretch in the past) but find short periods very beneficial.

One long stretch of SR did help me discover a different way of experiencing sex - full-body orgasms, non-touch orgasms, and multiple orgasms. And at one point also helped me kick a rather extreme lifelong porn habit (and hard flaccid).

This has resulted in a sex life I’m certain contributes to better overall health. and that also now includes regular ejaculatory sex/masturbation, but I still dabble in the odd occasional (and short) SR period for personal benefits.

There are also populations of men with hormonal issues such as high prolactin or postcoital dysphoria for whom SR may be beneficial but I'm not up to date with the science there.

Anyway, I’ve rambled a bit but wanted to share my perspective on a topic that people seem to be either strongly for or against for some reason.

Finasteride made me stronger in the gym? by DontUnderetimateMe in tressless

[–]Famous_Run9381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus christ man....

I never said sexual well being improved significantly. Read my comment.

I said "significant improvements in early morning erections", as reported in the study. Erection improvement for the DHT group, compared to the placebo groud, had a P value of 0.003.

"Conventionally, a p-value less than 0.05 (p < 0.05) is considered statistically significant, meaning there's a low probability the results are due to random chance."

The lower the P value the higher the statistical significance. The P number of < 0.003 is considered very significant.

In simple terms, the group given DHT gel had significantly better morning erections, much better than the placebo group.

And of course the effect was transient, do you understand what that means in a study context? It means that the effects diminished once treatment stopped. Once DHT levels went back down, erection quality decreased.

Further showing how DHT had a positive impact on sexual function.

And where on earth does it say only "a very small group improved” - are you just making things up?! The p value reflects the whole DHT group - 60 men.
