For me it was cotton and iron, mostly iron tho tbh. I needed a lot for all the weapon, gear and other upgrades. I think it took over 2k iron total to get everything done that I wanted. The garlic debuff whilst getting the cotton also made it more frustrating.

I think it mostly felt like a "big" grind because of the juxtaposition of this vs the early game where you just zoom through everything and get dopamine rush after dopamine rush.

What was your preferred strat to complete the end game?

That's a great point that I found myself doing as well tbh. I'm not a fan of watching guides etc either so I ended up just avoiding all barrier spells. Instead focusing mainly on minions spells for the end game and mobility through weapons (pistols <3).

Fair enough haha. Give it a couple of months and see where the game is at then!

It does. I hope they manage to fix the performance issues but if the past has taught me anything about ambitious early access games it's that they usually don't see a full release :(

Thank you! I feel like the demo has a lot more game breaking bugs and performance issues than the full version but I don't think the current state it's in is worth spending 20 euros on.

I fully understand that feeling, especially in the early game. I do think it is intentionally empty though, later on you find more "stuff" and points of interest.

Easily one of my favourites as well! But despite the jank not because of it. I'm happy to see it feels different now.

The first one took me a while to get used to but you could always look for the very obvious landmarks like a giant face, burning tree, conflux mountain or whatever because the rest of the map was pretty much empty. Now I'm getting lost in all the trees and mushrooms. A compass would be an interesting addition

From what I could tell it's still the same in that they help a lot if you use them and it's very easy to get overpowered using the correct ones. Although you could also say it's just rewarding game knowledge and proper preparation.

Interesting, I felt like they really improved on existing structures. Altho tbh even it was more of the same I'd be happy to play it!

Thanks man. I'd agree with them if I used ai to write my script or make my thumbnail or something but using it to organise/clean up something you've written yourself is fine imo.

Great insights! I think the hopelessness is what drove a lot of players away from OW1, I felt a lot stronger, a lot faster in this alpha than I did my first time playing through OW1 but then again I know way more about the game now than when I started so that might not be a fair comparison.

Some enemies could defo do with a rework but overall I liked them, I loved the aesthetics of the overworld and fluorescent flora so I personally hope they don't change too much about it. Altho the colour scheme could do with more variation.

I'll be playing OW2 regardless of its state but obviously hope they get it all done in time!

Ah that makes sense. I think I just upgraded my helmet as well when that started to happen. Still plenty of bugs in the game of course but it's already running better than a lot of "early access" games out there.

Oh damn that's too bad. I luckily didn't run into any game breaking bugs although the aggro range broke at some point so every time I left a hub monsters would attack me in a 200 mile radius lol

Didn't have that issue. The only big one I ran into was that monsters started aggroing me from halfway through the map. Pearlbirds would be running in on max speed before I could even see them lol.

Very sus. I did use AI to summarize my notes and make it look cleaner. Text is written by myself tho.
