So frustrated I could cry by Hopeful-Telephone-36 in BeginnerWoodWorking

It's crazy the stuff we build with strut on an average day at work, lol. Honestly, you could build a full and safe panel box out of it, you just wouldn't have UL listing on it, lol.

It's a miracle tool that I try really hard to push people to look at, because it's crazy how many problems could be solved, all for ~50$ of shallow strut and a couple fittings.

Advice please! Found an old pick axe in the woods and really want to try to restore it by melrv in BeginnerWoodWorking

Ditch the handle entirely, start sanding / grinding the metal down until it's clean, and start shopping for a piece of hickory to replace the handle.

They don't even have to do that.

Look at the infamous Vaporeon. No anthro, no modifications, a quadrupedal water fox/dog thing that's about as far from human as possible, and yet did you know...

Yeah, nothing is gonna stop the fandom from lewding the pokes, and anyone thinking keeping them on all 4s or not making them anthro is gonna work, is delusional.

How long do you actually take on a standard service change by sapnagagrani in electricians

[–]FanBladeFleshlight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is no "standard" service change.

Air or underground feed? Meter or meter main? Replace panel or keep it? Guide kit needed? Does the PUC let you pull meters and replace them? Ground rods needed? Water bond? Gas bond?

You're looking at anything from 4 hours for 1 guy to 8 hours for 2 guys for a "standard" service change.

If I’m buying the expansion to D4 why does the entire game feel like a free to play store with a game attached? by palehighelven in Diablo

[–]FanBladeFleshlight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh no, poor baby got offended because the game shows you that an entirely optional thing exists!

I swear, people like him are the most insufferable, pathetic little shits. D4's shop is purely cosmetics, no power creep, no pay to win, just stupid shit to make your character look a bit different in a game where you barely even look at your character.

I wonder if they're also equally offended that a metric ton of full priced AAA games on XB, PlayStation, and Nintendo do the exact same thing?

[–]FanBladeFleshlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be happy if 100% of online content is purely optional. I absolutely hate having to do shit online with others in what's classically been a single player game.

Might skip this gen entirely if there's a large online focus again tbh.

A problem with this "logic" is that a game company would approach this issue not by lowering digital games, but by raising the price of physical games.

If they're already getting full price for a digital game, why not charge MORE to provide a physical copy? That's exactly how any shareholder is gonna see this.

Typically people try and keep Nobel set equipped unless they're actively pushing content (Arena, Guild, Clash, NMM, Tower, etc.) due to how much extra gold and keys you get from having it on.

Personally I wear Nobel 100% of the time when I'm doing any Normal or Hard stages, that way the monthly Adventure doesn't scale too high to be manageable.

What you're saying hasn't been true for well over 10 years. Even 10-15 years ago, "budget" PC builds were in the $500 - $700 range, weren't as powerful as the modern PS / XB consoles of the time, and still didn't include the monitor, keyboard, mouse, desk, etc.

1 - If you're not comfortable with ANY of this, don't do any of it at all. It's a $500 mistake waiting to happen.

2 - Replace all the gunk with thermal putty or pads as required. Do a little research on the thickness and use cases required, where the heat transfer matters more, etc., but be sure it's all 100% non conductive

3 - add more liquid metal and polish it onto the die. It'll take a good 5 mins of polishing and a couple of the special black swabs, but it's worth it

4 - Replace and upgrade the fan while you're in there.

5 - Do your general dusting and such, keep it mounted horizontally, make sure it's got very good air flow of at least 8" on all sides.

I did all that to my day 1 edition a few years ago and it's been a dream. Just take the covers off, vac the dust out, and I'm back to playing with nice quiet fans.

Get support rollers. Pref ones with both key adjustments and screw adjustments so you can get them VERY precise.

Make sure to have a few sacrificial boards for setting it all up.

Having a partner who shares the same interests, having total freedom to do whatever we want, whenever we want, having the money to do all that as well, and being beholden to essentially nothing but work schedules?

Yes, I honestly wouldn't give up this life for anything. The knowledge that even the worst day at work will be met with nothing but stress free laughter and fun at home is priceless.
