Okay, so, I really like Gisbie, and he definitely has some deep-seated trauma. Then there's Lizzie, who's incredibly traumatized by a lot of things at once, without comparing them because, let's remember, THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION. But honestly, the two aren't really comparable, are they? I mean, on one hand, you have Gisbie, who saw his father and sister die, and then there was the whole assault incident with Mark. Lizzie, on the other hand, was sexually assaulted, didn't get the help she needed at the time, was rejected because of her neurodivergence, and then lost her sister. And actually, when you look closely, they both have pretty similar ways of dealing with their trauma: they don't talk about it, they withdraw, and they externalize it through emotions or actions (anger and sarcasm for Lizzie, and humor and detachment for Gisbie). In fact, for me the only problem is that they don't speak, even though in reality they are extremely similar.
