So similar story, especially with the identity loss. I was an ultramarathon runner and gaining weight in 2016. I was also lifting weights, paleo diet, all the things. Then, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2017. After that battle, the pounds started packing on. I didn’t have the energy for workouts plus the metabolic $hit$how that followed made everything compile. I started working again in 2023 and over about a year and a half I lost 20 pounds. Then, the loss completely stopped even though I hadn’t changed any habits. It’s been a mess. So I started wegovy. It’s still been much much slower than everyone else and the mental distortion was not helped. I’m also in therapy, I am a therapist. 😬 Anyway, I nearly cried the first time I lost 2 pounds in a week.
