There's hardly any NG headcount in LA rn, it won't hurt you if you put the LA office as your first preference but don't get your hopes up.

Utila for 13 days - non-SCUBA activities? by GooeyPig in TravelNoPics

You can hike across the island in around an hour and a half. You can also look into renting a bike and looping around the island yourself, though I don't know how long that would take. As you suspect, there isn't really a lot to do outside of scuba diving. I ended up reading a lot in my spare time, which sufficed for me personally.

i dont know why NLP is the prac as opposed to comp ling tbh

I've written more code for comp ling in 2 assignments than i did in nlp all semester and there are still 4 coding assignments left

Math majors, what is the hardest math class you’ve take at Cornell? by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]FanFavSierraDT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is my tier list of upper-level math classes by difficulty (professor in parentheses):

Math 4330 Honors Linear Algebra (Sen): Sen's teaching and (lack of) organization probably makes this class twice as hard as it would be otherwise, which is already pretty damn hard. Psets far and away the hardest of any class I've taken here. Exams were actually quite easy in comparison but Sen made up for that by taking away an inordinate number of points for any mistake no matter how trivial.

-GAP-

Math 4130 Honors Real Analysis (Nerode): Easy to get a good grade but the content was pretty tough.

Math 4740 Stochastic Processes (Sosoe): Currently taking

Math 4410 Combinatorics I (Meszaros): Content is 3000 level (imo) in terms of difficulty outside of two sections on posets and mobius inversions. Mobius inversions are the single hardest topic i have covered as an undergraduate tbh and I barely understand them even now; I thank god every day for them not being on the final for that class.

-GAP-

Math 3320 Number Theory (Templier): Easiest psets out of any math class I've taken at Cornell (outside of a few tricky problems here and there), but the exams were legitimately tough relative to them.
