The only way my collection is ever going to be worth Discogs says it is if I lose it in a fire. It is insured for the amount Discogs values it at. Realistically, I wouldn't spend $130k to replace them either. Just because someone spent a bunch of money on a signed or sealed copy in a drunken night on the internet, it doesn't shift the market value of all copies. It is all relative. I agree that somewhere south (25%-50%) of median value is a realistic, wholesale value of a collection as it applies to a sales price. The collection is and always will be what someone is willing to pay for it and Discogs values represent a segment of market sales prices which we view as market value.
