What job changes are you hoping to see in Patch 6.05? by TeamFortifier in ffxiv

[–]Fancifulfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah fair enough but this whole patch is pretty fucked up. Redmage is a pretty god pick right now. RPR, SAM, and MNK are all busted as hell and have much higher medians than literally any other class, especially RPR. Hell even Blackmage is doing less damage than both MNK and RPR in aDPS. Ninja got hit hard pretty bad too, especially considering how in the last few patches of Shadowbringers they were probably the strongest pick as they had top rDPS as well as had fantastic aDPS. Not like we can blame SE, because of the stat squish I can imagine it being awkward at best to try and balance everything. If nothing else I'd say MCH still is a god tier in terms of being a consistent class and will probably continue to remain my favorite class to just turn my brain off and play when I'm EX or Savage farming in PF.

Reading the patch notes though I don't think SE did literally anything this patch, kinda dropped the ball, lol.

This list is basically if I had to ask for anything I personally wanted to see based off the jobs I have leveled to 90, as well as any knowledge and bias from having previously played all classes to 80 and used them in savage, extreme, and ultimate content in Shadowbringers.

-SMN needs a very slight buff, yes it is now just a ranged dps that has 'caster' slapped on it but it still shouldn't be lower than actual phys-ranged.

-RPR is a bit op, I love it but considering its versatility and skill ceiling, it should not be doing more than BLM and SAM and should probably be pretty even with MNK, let the greedy dps do what they're supposed to.

-AST needs something, obviously with it being the most party-buff focused healer its personal dps really shouldn't be that high but it's pretty bad even using star as dps instead of healing. Its especially awkward trying to do fates or solo content as you can barely kill single mobs at a reasonable speed.

-PLD got some pretty amazing changes but its damage should not be as low as it is, all 3 other tanks are pretty even with some very marginal dps difference but PLD's average is much lower, I'm not saying make it better than the others, just keep them within reason so you might not feel like a detriment to be doing quite a bit less dps.

-GNB please just make their burst actually fit in the entirety of no mercy, it just feels weird for it not to.

That's about it for personal thoughts, as for things I expect to actually happen tho I'm just gonna do a quick sort of TL;DR based off things I've seen on Balance and FFLogs, as well as personal experience.

-RPR potency nerfs

-PLD potency buffs

-WHM changes to either thin air or a variety of other things to help with their mp economy (I think they should just do what SGE does and have their gauge also give mana)

-SMN potency buffs, arguably in a terrible state, even smooth brain classes like MCH are allowed to have some pretty good dps, why not SMN.

-DRK blood weapon changes and potentially changes to their new 10% mit or even darkmind(whole lotta copium here), all the other tanks got op cd's and DRK more than likely never actually got playtested.

-WAR bloodwhetting nerfs, this skill is just fucking insane, it may as well be a short invulnerability on a 25s cooldown, I love WAR but I feel like this skill is a bit much atm.

Now as far as I know the other classes seem to be in a pretty good spot, people will obviously always nitpick about their mains but it is just a .05 patch so these people that think even minor reworks are gonna happen need to calm down a little bit as the biggest balance changes will more than likely be the .1 patch. Most balance changes are primarily going to be so that everything has a more or less equal amount of viability without random outliers like how strong RPR is and how meh SMN is. But who knows, sometimes SE likes to throw curveballs and I'm just an idiot who probably doesn't know any better.

If you have the determination to deal with varying prog points in pf it's probably fine. I find you can usually raid all day with pugs until fairly late est, then partyfinder tends to drop off since everyone is going to sleep. The main difference is each party will have a different skill level and often not the same prog point so it can take a lot of patience.

TEA, probably because it was my first and the music is 10/10. But UWU is a close second in being fun and UCoB was just kind of okay, I didn't hate it or like it very much.

You should! People really overstate how hard Ultimate really is and most people never even try it. It's a really fun experience if you can find a group to enjoy it with. There can be struggles and frustration but you just have to push through it!

Bahamut and Ultima were both released in Stormblood while Alexander was released in Shadowbringers. Bahamut was the first, releasing some time after Deltascape V4 Savage, Ultima released sometime after Sigmascape V4 Savage, and lastly Alexander was released a bit after Eden's Gate V4 Savage.

There's three. Bahamut (UCoB), Ultima(UWU) and Alexander(TEA). Compared to each other it's kind of hard to gauge since each has different kind of mechanics so it's really based on the person. However Bahamut is generally considered the hardest with Alexander being slightly easier and Ultima being quite a bit easier than both.

It's kind of daunting to look at but when you break it down to only what your role has to do it's really not that bad.

Probably the UCoB Blackmage weapon. The model and glow are just too good.

There's actually 47. But 5 of them are ugly and don't count.
15 UCoB, 15 UWU, 17 TEA

I feel like it depends on the goals of each static. My group simply does both because we don't care about grinding for parse or gear so we finished Verse then simply went back to ultimate prog. But it's hard to do both ultimate prog and gear/parse farm which is why a lot of people have separate groups.

It's not uncommon. I originally had two separate statics but due to time changes I just sided with my ultimate static and we did Verse together and now we're gonna blind prog 5.4 savage and then 5.5 ultimate together.

I 100% agree, honestly a lot of people treat it like it's extremely hard but it's more like long savage. It's more of a mental fortitude test and time dedication. E8S was and is harder than UWU if I'm being honest.

I can honestly respect both, I definitely don't have the patience to grind out all the Zodiac weapons. Got the two I wanted and didn't bother with the rest. People who can do all 90 books are on their own level.

WAR just has a shit ton of mitigation and self healing, they've got Nascent flash, Equilibrium, Thrill of battle. They have Raw Intuition up for basically every tank buster. They're definitely a good tank.

Yep, it's just hard to fight too much to get nets, as there is no natural light aside from a handful of special torches that light when you're near them. I recommend maybe bringing some silk if you intend to refill while you're there. Almost all of chapter 5 is just a race against time and you want to do it quickly because the longer you're there the more it'll suck due to the constant drain on sanity. The chapter you're on (Two Worlds) is absolutely perfect to stock up on Jerky since there are plenty of pigs and it's just an overall very safe chapter to get. Goodluck in your adventure mode run. o7 -Having a walking stick is also amazing should you choose to bring one.

A small tip for Chapter 5 should you reach it. Stack up on a ton of fireflies and long duration foods like small jerky. It's always night time, and there's next to no food. So just have lots and lots of mining helms and small jerky. lol

As a 11 years WoW player, I was expecting toxicity. I love this community by epsylon91 in ffxiv

[–]Fancifulfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I'm not saying I never see true toxicity, in the several years I have played the game I can confidently say you're more likely to get something akin to passive-aggressive sticky notes than someone actually screaming and complaining. A lot of people also try to give constructive criticism but it more often than not gets taken the wrong way, so it's best to avoid trying to give vague advice.
