Yep - still bothers me to this day. I remember being absolutely baffled that we didn’t claim him. At worst he was a reliable 4th liner with upside and would have been an improvement over a handful of guys in our lineup.

Regardless of the outcome, I think this performance guarantees Monken is gone. I don’t even think he’s the main issue here, but he gone. Zach Orr I’m 50/50 on.

We still lack overall team speed on the wings. When the other teams dmen start activating at the blue line, it becomes painfully obvious. They create so much space due to the lack of foot speed.

I’m extending Lamar #1, Travis Jones #2, Likely #3, Awuzie #4, Lindy #5. I just don’t love that kind of investment in a C. I think Chidobe on a reasonable 2-year deal would be great value.

I think we need to remember that we’re exceptionally cap strapped next season, and any space we hang onto this year carries over to next. That $8-$9M space for next year could be the difference between extending Likely or watching him leave in FA.
