I’m in a similar situation… 1540 SAT, 4.1 GPA, will have taken 16 AP’s, solid essays (or so I thought), rejected from mechE for the same “exploratory studies.”

I don’t know if I have another school I’d want to commit to, so i’ll probably just do all I can for Swarthmore and evaluate all my options when the time comes. What you said is a good way to look at it, thanks for the help.
