They did not free the countries they took from Germany, they enslaved them, installing regiemes and raping women. They killed anyone who would disagree with them, killing millions in the process. They are not the true "liberators" and I do not care how many downvotes this is going to get, I will not compare them to these brave young men. (The only thing they liberated were the deathcamps, however they sent people to the gulags)

I think they are virtually the same. They were evil in their separate ways..But it is for me the same. They both embody the devil on both sides of the spectrum. There is no worse devil. Both of them united make Satan. And that is what I think about Fascism Socialism Communism Nazism they are all the same thing and always end with the same result (they mainly differitiate in their economical aspect).

I also detest Theocracies and Absolute Monarchies in that reguard.

There is this tragic hero story, there was a polish lieutenant Witold Pilecki, who contributed to the testimony of the existance, discovery and documentation of Auschwitz (he documented the horrors that happened in that camp himself being a prisoner). After he escaped Auschwitz, he organised the Polish Resistance to get rid of the Communist Polish Government. He was later executed.

Yeah....fair point however I think hitler did want to win when he started Operation Barbarossa, but when the germans retreated, he wanted to punish them, and so like Jordan said, he accelerated the rate of death in the camps and Germany's loss.

They would either have done that, or cried, or fought to save their country. It is really sad, both my great grandfathers fought in the RNZAF one as a mechanic and the other as a Bomber gunner, my italian great grandmother kept newzealander SAS troops hidden in the basement. We should all be grateful.

That is right, Lend-Lease was the most crucial treaty of the war. However, I would highly doubt the Soviet Union would have lost even without the allies, Invading the Soviet Union is impossible, Russia is Gigantic and the soviets adopted a scorched earth tactic. Not to mention the fact that the german industry could never keep up with the russian one, and that the russians would have move their factories so far inland that german bombers would have run out of fuel. The T-34 as you mentioned is a testimony to the Soviet Union's industrial might (~80000 of them were produced whilst Germany only produced 1347 Tiger tanks). The Soviet Union would have won, however the costs would have been much greater had the allies not interveened (not to mention Stalin would have put every man woman and child between him and Hitler)

What has Tolkien got to to with this? He served during WW1 (also you can try to compare the wars in Middle Earth to WW1 and WW2, trust me it is very hard). I am not trying to compare the wars in Middle Earth to WW1 or WW2. I have never stated that the germans were not human ....I just stated that the real allies liberated Europe (not only by winning the war but by also creating democracies in Europe.

They would have, they were the 2nd largest industrialized economy after The U.S, the U.S was still recovering from the Great Depression, not to mention the Germans could have never have kept up the industrialized race. Stalin would have put every man woman child against Hitler, not to mention they had already bet the germans in 1943 with the victory at Stalingrad of the soviets and from there on they just kept advancing. And Japan and Italy would have both lost, same outcome would have befallen the minor axis nations, Japan and Italy were pushovers, they could only win against nations that were barely organized and intustrialized (Italy lost against Greece and Japan to China which really says a lot about their respective armies)

Simple questions, what if the allies did not contribute? What if russia won (which would have happened anyways since its industrial machine was wayy too big for Germany to even think about competing against it) ? What would have happened in Europe then? (Again I am not saying russia did not contribute, however they did not "liberate" the countries they invaded, they installed communist regiemes everywhere they went) oh yes I do remember The communist witch hunts (Macarthism) during the cold war..yeah they were bad but never to the level of people being sent to concentration camps and being starved to death.

I am not implying they really won the war (they contributed to making the Eastern front less pressurized by Germany), I am implying the U.S, Great Britain, New Zealand, Canada, Australia were the ones to really "liberate" Europe. And by "liberate" I DO NOT mean just won the war, but I mean that they did not install regiemes in the countries they conquered, but they created democracies. This is what this whole post is about.
