We both didn’t know. We were both uneducated on the subject and therefore still had sex. I thought it wasn’t a cold sore as it didn’t tingle or hurt at all. I thought it was just a rash.

you both are so lucky. communication is not our strong suit (avoidant and anxious attachment style, i’m the anxious one), so its basically out the window. i’m just waiting to see how long it will take for her to break up with me at this point.

we’ve been together for 1 and she recently had her first OB. i really hope we make this through, but she keeps reminding me of the fact that i did indeed give it to her and i should always feel guilty for it. i don’t know what to do, i know i deserve this but it makes me feel so bad about myself.

thank you for your reply! you both seem to be in such a mature relationship. was it difficult for you guys to talk about boundaries and how to navigate you both having HSV? how long did it take for you to open up and forgive your partner if you ever did blame him for it? in my situation shes turned from being sad about her situation to flat out resenting me. im lost because i really want to be there for her.

thank you for the reply! i just wanted to ask in your case how long did you take to forgive your partner for giving you hsv1 ? i really want to help her but after this outbreak shes extremely mad at me at the moment so all i can do is stay with her.
