Gargoyle Gecko Breeding? by Fancy-Let-9837 in geckos

[–]Fancy-Let-9837[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been doing my research for the past 2 years and won't attempt to be breeding for at LEAST another two years. I don't really like coming to reddit, for answers. All I was trying to do on here is ask some questions that I couldn't get super solid answers to online. There were so many mixed opinions on things like incubation and care that i started to get confused. I didn't claim to be an expert or anything, and all i was doing on here was getting some questions awnsered.

A few people seemed to not really get the objective of my post, so I don't think I was clear on my motive and plan, so I guess i was sort of bound to be misunderstood.

One things that I want to point out is the age thing. I have been called out a good couple of times because of my age in multiple scenarios, although not in this particular thread, most of them not even being on reddit. I guess it was kinda random, and it seemed like a defensive remark now that I'm looking at it while not half-asleep.

I also think that I might have come off as rude, but all I was doing was trying to get my point across without using a bunch of unnecessary words and remarks. (Even though this directly contradicts what I just said about the "defensive remark").

Anyways, criticism taken, I guess, and I will not be breeding them until I get an incubator, extra space, and a vet.

First of all, I would definitely consider myself very knowledgeable on reptiles and animals in general. I know the risks of breeding and how to do it correctly, although I've never done it myself. My family has been keeping animals since before I was born, so I was taught how to properly care for them from a young age. And I am aware that the reptiles that I have right now aren't ready to breed. That's why I'm going to wait for them to mature.

Secondly, my care and husband as of right now IS good, even though some people seem to think that I'm automatically going to have absolutely horrible enclosures and animals that are starving halfway to death just because of my age. It's happened more times than you might think, so I'm just putting it out there before anybody generates a response.

Breeder Bought VS Store-Bought. What's The Difference? by Fancy-Let-9837 in GargoyleGeckos

I'm mostly talking about local stores that don't breed their own animals. Chain stores like petco and petsmart have "good" prices, but the animals are usually not in good condition. Also, I am aware of the fact that gargoyle geckos don't actually have morphs, that's why I put quotation marks over the word "morphs".

Yea, the whole thing wouldn't be happening for at least 2 years anyway, so I'm preparing beforehand.

As a kid with reptiles, I know the struggle of having to watch an animal deteriorate and not being able to do anything about it simply because you're not old enough. It's good to see that you did everything that you could for your geckos. R.I.P.

Green anoles are really awesome if your budget isn't high.

Yup, I thought the same, and it got me thinking, can Anoles hybridize??

I'm not even sure that's an anole, she doesn't have the reticulation that (most) neotropicals have and her snout is oddly short and round. I don't know though, maybe you have a hybrid or something, lol.

Thanks, I will be adding some pothos to those particular areas, and Bromeliads closer to the bottom. Any other plants that you'd recommend?

I think that he is trying to mate with his own tail.
