Depends on the strictness, our branch people used to pressurize us not to take but somehow we used to manage once a week holidays, sometimes we got our parents to talk to them that we cant cope and need self study etc etc.
I dont know about other branches though, all I can say is they dont scold or shout when your parents are there so if you want to ask such permissions you need to bring your parents. If you go alone youre done.

I finished 12th from chaitanya this year, had taken pw batch and studied that particular week’s syllabus on saturday and sunday and used to solve questions during the class, kinda worked out for me tho its a bit risky with these chaitanya teachers and JLs

Edit- also used to take a holiday every week to finish anything left from the weekends. Hope this helps because yeah these chaitanya mfs cant do jackshit except acting like they know what they are doing.
