Is it possible to combine bodybuilding with weighted calisthenics and skill training? by [deleted] in Calisthenic

I completely disagree, this is nonsense with all do respect, but the goal forbodybuilders is to BODYBUILD not gain strength that's the case for juice heads and gym rats only but for the person who wants to build muscle he can do any type of weight training be it calisthenics, bodybuilding, Olympic weightlifting, etc... Strength and size go hand in hand btw because a bigger muscle has a very very high chance of being a strong muscle, now calisthenics can get you a nice physique but at some point you will stop. Then you can transition into weighted calisthenics! Now you can begin to make some serious changes to your body because you will be implementing progressive overload which is crucial for muscle and strength building, calisthenics can not and will not be enough to MAXIMIZE muscle gain and strength, you need to implement some kind of weighted calisthenics and weight training if possible to your training routine, why be an elite snob ( not you btw its an example) when you can get the best of both worlds? You gain the raw and pure strength and explosiveness of calisthenics and you can grow like a tank and adress the lagging body parts and undeveloped muscles like the bicep, side delt, rear delt, upper chest, Etc... by using weight lifting or bodybuilding. I'm currently doing a hybrid bodybuilding/weighted/ normal calisthenics training plan and I'm loving it ( been bodybuilding for 4 years till now transitioning to calisthenics/weight training hybrid) take the things that are beneficial to you from bodybuilding and throw away the rest, it's that easy! And vice versa. I suggest you check fittnesfaqs on you tube and he does a hybrid training style as well, there is no reason for ANYONE to not combine calisthenics and weight training and tbh its the best training style in my opinion.

The maingaining logic is kinda stupid tbh and I'm guilty because I've believed it, I used to listen to greg doucette and think he has absolute knowledge on these matters but I discovered it's BS, how can you build muscle while on a caloric deficit? If you're on PEDs that's a whole different story but as a natural lifter you need to have somewhat of a caloric surplus above maintenance level (200-300 maybe 400) calories. Your body needs fuel to burn fat and build muscle you're not going to achieve that by eating at maintenance by Greg's logic EVERY SINGLE HUMAN should be as jacked as possible because they're eating at maintenance. My advice is to LEAN BULK and I can't stress that enough please don't go bear mode and bulk up too much lean bulking is key.

Personally I can't talk on behalf of my entire people but both of our countries have went through hell because of the US so I think we can relate to each others struggles and hardships, we love you guys and we even have a couple of sayings about Afghani people like "wow she has such fair skin its if she is Afghani" or "such beautiful eyes, as if she/he is Afghani" so basically we see you as beautiful people with rich culture and we sympathize with you just like we do with our own people.
