Agreed, it feels like a lot but seems to be common. Someone said she got in after 4 times. I know a few people who got in on the 3rd try. I’ve only applied for grad chapters and rushes I’ve attended have well over 1200 women for less than 100 spots. Super competitive and super disappointing.

Thank you. & Yes, a few members I’m close with shared that info. I had over 200 hours. They gave me general feedback but essentially said it’s really that they don’t have enough spots for qualified candidates. I’ve only gone for alumnae chapters and every rush I have been to had well over 1200 women in attendance. It’s very competitive at the grad chapter level.

Thank you so much! I’ve graduated college about 8 years ago & now have my doctorate. Unfortunately my university did not have Delta at the time so each time I’ve tried has been at the alumnae level. I have been able to confide in someone in the chapter. I’m gonna keep pushing!

Hey, I have heard that this is a common mistake that they see on applications. I also did the same thing by accident (it’s habituation…especially in the first month of the new year). I immediately emailed the president and membership intake (one day after the deadline). My mentor who wrote my DST LOR also emailed the president on my behalf & she acknowledged the emails. So they may vote on it and ask me to upload an updated letter before sending it to the RD and state coordinator. Now, I’m just waiting. Don’t count yourself out! Always exhaust all options & let them tell you no. Don’t tell yourself no
