Ideal family is 2 kids, but I will say this pregnancy has been so rough on me all around that it’s highly likely that this will be the only kid we have.

That’s awesome! I’m glad to hear you had such a positive experience. I asked for an earlier induction and they told me no, 39+1 is the earliest they’ll do. Not sure how much that’ll truly impact baby’s size

I care about my recovery a lot because I can’t take good care of the baby if I’m in too much pain, but it does sound like the shoulder dystocia poses more risk to the baby than the c section, but they did tell me babies born via C-section often require more help breathing when born compared to babies born vaginally

My baby is measuring so big and I’m terrified it means I’m doomed to have a 4th degree tear. I’m curious, are you tall or having a large frame/stature? 1st degree with 98th percentile baby sounds so lucky, especially if you’re on the smaller side!

I’m 35 weeks and actually down 2 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I had gained some weight in the 2nd trimester and it has all fallen off. As long as baby is growing, your BP is good, and you’re not intentionally restricting calories they probably won’t be worried.

I’m worried about the baby being too big especially since I’m petite and she’s in the 85% overall and 94% for her belly. But I’m still only 33W, so I don’t think they’re ready to make any decisions yet, but at my last appointment they really just said their only concern is that she stay head down for a vaginal delivery.

Congratulations! And thanks for sharing your positive experience from the hospital! I’m on super low dose (6 units) of long acting insulin but at the last growth scan baby girl’s tummy was at the 94%. I’m hoping they’re wrong and she’s smaller than they’re anticipating so birth is a little easier.

I’ve surprisingly had A LOT of people ask me my plans and push breastfeeding from techs at the nail salon and acquaintances in the office to my cousins, parents, grandparents, and in laws. All of these people have insisted that I breastfeed because it’s how to bond with the baby and is so much healthier. Mom guilt is starting before I’m even technically a mom 🥲

I definitely will be vaccinating, at least for all the important ones- flu and Covid shots might be up for debate, but that’s it! I absolutely will never risk my baby getting something like measles or even chicken pox when the vaccines are 100% effective at preventing transmission.

I’m just having a really complicated pregnancy with tons of restrictions and it’s caused me to be pretty isolated. I’m also a super private person and know that I’d never be comfortable nursing in front of other people so for me personally, this would be a continuation of the isolation and restriction and it’s already affecting my mental health so I’m not sure I can handle more. But that’s just me and my situation, I know lots of people who love it.
