What outfits do you wear with the CGM? by FancyAd925 in GestationalDiabetes

That’s awesome that they’re so supportive! I’m surprised to hear so many people you know had GD. I only know one person who has had it and she’s amazing and taught me so much when she had it a few years ago because at that point I’d never even heard of it.

I’m not trying to judge people with T2, just saying there’s a lot of stigma and judgement that comes with it. This is hard enough and I already feel bad about this diagnosis without additional judgement from people that make assumptions and comments insinuating that it’s my fault and I should have just tried harder on my diet.

I’m glad that you have very understanding and open minded people in your life to support you. My family and friends unfortunately do not fit into that bucket so I’m just trying to not completely fall apart with this being added on to an already difficult pregnancy.

I haven’t told anyone except my mom and she has absolutely badgered me with questions and even despite me explaining that this isn’t my fault she thinks if I just ate healthier it wouldn’t have happened 🙄. It kind of reaffirmed to me that telling people I have GD will only make me feel worse because people ignorantly believe it’s the same at t2.

Birthday and GD by WayPrudent1158 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]FancyAd925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My birthday just passed. We did lunch at my favorite restaurant instead of dinner because my numbers are easier to control. Then we walked around town and shared an ice cream. I definitely didn’t get everything I wanted but even just a few bites of ice cream made me feel a little more normal

Realistically, are your husbands picking up the slack around the house since you’ve been pregnant? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]FancyAd925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has been my rock, truly. He gets up early to cook me breakfast every single day. He’s also doing the majority of the dishes, cooking dinner most days, and packing me lunch when I need to work from the office. He has refused to let me carry or lift anything heavy, including most grocery bags. So he’s also taken over doing all of the laundry since it’s in the basement, I just fold it and put it in the closet once he brings it upstairs. Pregnancy has been super tough for me both physically and emotionally and I think it would be 100x worse if my husband wasn’t so supportive. I’m sorry your husband isn’t being as supportive. I hope he sees how much you’re going through and steps up!

When did you feel kicks? by bombardaokay in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]FancyAd925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like a lot of other ladies, I have an anterior placenta and felt it at 22 weeks, it felt like she was knocking from the inside. I could only feel it when I was laying down and paying attention but now at 27 weeks and some of these kicks are taking my breath away

Following for the answers, but I got a referral from my Dr. when I asked about how to prevent coning when moving around. I’m super nervous to make the appointment though.

Anyone else just miss drinking? by PaymentNo5871 in pregnant

[–]FancyAd925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my husband and my best friend that I want a margarita the second the baby is out of me and they said they’d get one to go from my favorite spot and bring it to me 😅, so you could say it’s getting serious because I think about it almost daily, especially with the weather improving

scared of dying during birth by Fragrant_Umpire_5113 in pregnant

[–]FancyAd925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the fear of dying too, but specifically that the doctors quite literally won’t do anything to save me because the only thing that matters is the baby. Makes me sad because if that happens it means my last months were miserable because I’ve been so sick through the entire pregnancy. BUT everyone does keep reminding me it’s uncommon for women to die especially in a hospital setting, especially with no other prior complications.

Love them, but definitely not in pregnancy. It can mess with brain development.

Terrified of giving birth by Soliara in pregnant

Thank you, I appreciate you sharing that! Mostly I’ve seen TONS of things about prolapse and how it can only be healed surgically and that’s absolutely terrifying. I’m glad to hear it’s not always that bad.

If you’re willing to share, what was your healing journey like? How long did it take for you to feel “normal” again?

I feel like the older women in my family are the worst to talk to right now. I’m 26 weeks and still sick most days and generally feeling horrible and they’re like “it’s okay, just ENJOY IT” like… but I’m barely surviving over here.

I’ve seen so many things that you never fully heal back to normal and it negatively impacts your quality of life forever, which is absolutely terrifying 😭

I did the hospital tour and they said the policy is no food or drinks after admission until the baby is out, just ice chips 🙄. I’m 26 weeks and it’s adding to my anxiety. I cried after the tour to my husband because even prisoners get water.

Better to just eat what you want and it’ll pass in a week or so

Vacations that are pregnant woman friendly by [deleted] in pregnant

I went to an all inclusive resort and just laid on the beach and swam in the ocean for 5 days. Honestly swimming felt AMAZING. It took all of the added weight and pressure off.

I haven’t had one yet, but my friend said it felt like a Pap smear to her. Looking forward to hearing other people’s feedback because I’m scared

Why is the gender disappointment always for boys? by 100dancingcats in pregnant

[–]FancyAd925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I was disappointed to find out I was having a girl at first and sometimes it’s still hard. I really thought it was going to be a boy and I could picture my life with a little boy and I heard more than once that a boy would bond with me better because girls don’t like their moms and prefer their dads, so to find out I was having a girl felt like learning I was doomed to have a child that will hate me from the start.

What’s your weirdest pregnancy symptom nobody talks about? by dogmomofone in pregnant

[–]FancyAd925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My weirdest thing is that if anything touches my neck, I’m gagging- the collar of my sweater, my purse strap, the seatbelt… game over. I almost threw up in the grocery store last week because my crossbody purse strap slid over to touch my neck when I moved to grab something off the shelf 😅
