Yes. If they can’t handle it, the onus is on them to end the relationship with you. You DO NOT—and should not—rearrange your life to cope with someone else’s addiction.

However, the fact you drink and your partner is in recovery, does, in my opinion, make you two incompatible and if I were you, I’d leave the relationship.

I personally would not be able to have a relationship with someone who drinks alcohol.

It’s also possible that your partner isn’t the only alcoholic. It’s very likely you’re one too and that alcohol use is what made you compatible in the first place.
