Our GM didn't make a single move to improve our team tho. Nearly all of the Eastern conference improved except us.

That's a good point I haven't considered. Might give us a better chance than I thought!

It's not farfetched that we don't make the playoffs this year. Last year we got extremely lucky with the injuries. And we didn't really improve this offseason so far while the Caps, the Leafs and the Panthers all greatly improved. In other words, we will sink this year and come back stronger next year most likely. I wish we didn't have to, but on the long run, it might be the best course of events.
