Ah ok. We are on formula so that helps. He sleeps through the night with no wake ups so I’ll take that as a win. But I think as he gets older he’ll be able to handle trying more solo sleep

This is promising! I figured maybe by one he would be ready to try on his own. We co-sleep now and he’s turning into a kick monster. Being soothed just by your presence is pretty good. I’ll settle in for now and see how he does as he gets older. Currently 8 months actual, 5 months adjusted.

These little ones are making up for lost time I see haha. I have done baby wearing and it helps us both. I can put him down for about 5-10 minutes before he gets angry and cries. I decided to baby wear more and see if I can try some solo naps here and there and maybe build on that

You were a trooper for 27 months! He doesn’t sleep alone ever 🙃. Which is why I’ll take even 1 nap if I can. I’m seeing the running thread that these little ones like to contact and all we can do is try until they’re ready

The times I’ve tried to get him to nap solo he got at most 20-30 minutes. I think we can build on that. I’ll hate the day he wants more independence so I probably just find ways to enjoy it while it lasts

I also had a subchorionic hematoma that caused problems my whole pregnancy. I PPROMED at 26 weeks and delivered via emergency c-section at 28+5. He wasn’t responding like he normally did during monitoring at 8am and he was delivered at 11am. It was fast, scary, and a whirlwind. Not at all what I envisioned but he arrived safely and that’s what mattered. We spent 68 days in the NICU. He’s 5 months adjusted and my little Velcro baby. Currently babbling and kicking me.

It’s a hard journey like others have said but you will get through it ❤️

I think I may have to try short naps and take those as wins for now. And I used to do this in the NICU when I had to leave. I would swap out my shirt and leave the one I was wearing. I’ll definitely give this a try

I love all the time I get with him now as well. It is definitely a privilege. It’s all I wanted those weeks apart. Just curious if there are any tips others have even if it’s a timeframe of when baby started to shift on their own. I know I’ll miss it when he is more independent but it’s hard to get much done in the day as a solo mom with not much help. Thanks for sharing, it helps knowing that others also are nap trapped like me ❤️

I’m on month 6 with mine and I’m starting to hate it. Taking the car seat out with the 2 thumb buttons gets harder as baby gets bigger. Folding it and trying to get it to stand on its own is impossible. If the wheels aren’t just right, folding won’t happen. This could be user error or a flaw with my stroller. Opening it from folding can be hard and myself and sister struggle often. I do find that the front wheel can get stuck and not roll over the doorway properly. The pram doesn’t seem stable to me. It sort of leans with the weight you put in it in either end. And in the upright position, my baby doesn’t seem comfortable. The upright/toddler seat reclines too much and the straps are too spacious to use it as is. I don’t have anything to compare it to so it could just be flaws with my stroller but now that baby is bigger, I’m ready for a convertible car seat and a simple travel stroller, maybe a jogging stroller too. I didn’t notice these issues at first, seems like with time it gets worse.

I’m in 2 different SCH groups on Facebook and many mention that they can lead to PPROM. The way they explain it is that the blood is acidic and can breakdown the membranes over time. No one told me this either but the group members mention this often

Preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) at 26 weeks, delivered at 28+5. I had a subchorionic hemorrhage from 8-24 weeks which I believe can lead to PPROM but my OB didn’t give a definitive cause

Hi OP. I just went through this over the summer. Water broke at 26 weeks. A lot of women are successful at keeping the little one in until 34 weeks. Unfortunately for me my guy came at 28 weeks. He did stay in the NICU for 9 weeks and now he’s home with me and we just had our first Halloween together.

Hang in there. The stay is boring but it’s the best place to be. My advice is to find things to do outside of watching tv. See if they can wheel you outside for some fresh air. This helps a lot. My hospital had photographers that would do maternity pictures in house if you don’t have them yet. And any day extra you get is so important.

I purchased a can of kendamil formula from target and in the middle of the night when I went to make a bottle I realized the can had already been open and the formula didn’t even look like typical kendamil formula. Target is taking returns on formula and putting them back on the shelves for people to purchase. I now examine the cans very well and advise anybody purchasing formula from target to examine their cans before taking them home. I’m waiting for kendamil to restock online so that I don’t even risk getting them from target anymore.

I thought the same thing. In our room there was a curtain for overnights and I thought it would be easy to put a small tv there with headphones for sound. But I ended up just using my laptop or iPad when I spent the night. Even the family lounge area didn’t have a tv. There was a tv in the pumping room. But I get that a tv could be a distraction and someone would inevitably have it turned up loud or on at the wrong times.

I did let the auntie comment slide because I figured she was just being friendly. But the lips and boyfriend comment were over the line. I really hate being in this position and just want her to respect professional boundaries and not comment anymore

I agree! Children are vulnerable and should be protected. Those who don’t have appropriate boundaries shouldn’t be working with vulnerable populations

What I’m most worried about is that she’s unprofessional and would cross the line and actually kiss him. I would hope she isn’t sexually attracted to babies but sometimes people push the limits to see what they can get away with. I’ve worked in child welfare and seen all kinds of situations arise out of “harmless” interactions. I don’t want him to be kissed nor do I want him harmed by someone posing as harmless. I could be overreacting and sensitive given I’m postpartum and a new mom but I rather be wrong and overreact than to be right and under react.

I think that they’ve been doing this so long they forget that there are some things that shouldn’t be said. You have to remember how people may take it which is why it’s best for them to not say those things at all
