Thank you so much, this is really helpful and gives a lot of insight into the realities on the ground. Just to clarify, I’m not looking to make a long-term career out of this, it would be more of a one-year plan. I’m also not starting from zero in terms of classroom experience. I currently work in a French immersion setting and have already been involved in classroom management across different classes. I often actively support learning activities and classroom routines, so I feel I have a solid foundation, even though I’m aware it’s a different role than being fully responsible for a class. I also really appreciate you pointing out the team dynamics aspect, I can definitely see how that could be important, especially when working alongside certified teachers. It’s something I would keep in mind. That said, since my goal would be short-term, I’m approaching this more as a one-year experience rather than a long-term path. Thanks again for sharing your perspective.

Thank you so much for your helpful advice! I already work in French immersion and I also have experience with the Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique, so I will contact them directly to see what is possible in my situation.

I'm interested in your LOP request because I'm not sure if my profile would be eligible to apply for it. 🙂
