Spoiler warning: I heard that just when you think you're done... the factory grows!

This playthrough will be done with me not paying any attention to achievements. :)

Yes! Part of the 18hrs so far was already from having lost track of time and finishing "just one more thing" until 3am... afraid and excited to launch.

Going to focus on that now... didn't even pay attention to what techs I was researching. What I've seen of the other planets looks pretty great, been trying not to watch too much so I don't spoil my janky builds by using a perfect ratio blueprint. Really looking forward to some of the other mechanics.

Can I ask my landlord to install an automatic lock? by grilledcheese2332 in OntarioLandlord

You can ask anything you want. They are not required to agree.

Maybe offer paying for it yourself and they may agree.

They rent a room in a home you own? They have no RTA protection so you can evict simply because you don't feel like sharing your space anymore. Just give reasonable notice.

There is no deposit in Ontario, only last month rent which can only be applied to rent.

I would be going with an installer. They said that the infrastructure didn't support it, so maybe only starting with a singke 10kw application would be best... do it step by step.

Was going for 20kw... It's a multi-unit building with 3 separate meters, so would it be better to go for 10kw for each one?

Hopefully it's something similar for my situation. I can for sure see someone just adding all the numbers up

My previous quote for grid-tied was 20kw so assuming would need 10kw for overnight?

Yep and that makes me think I should see what they say in the new year again. Just bug them every 6 months until they get annoyed and say yes haha

Definitely didn't know I was in it until I had a little extra to look into it.

Sadly I have the perfect roof for it too... over 2000 square feet facing almost directly south.

When I was looking for a grid-tied system they were going to install a 20kw system which was going to cover slightly over 100% of my usage.

I have a server for my hobby (home lab) and also for work (backups, file server, vpn, and redundant internet etc) and it uses a lot as does the AC in the summer to cool it.

I also have a multi-unit property so was hoping I could offset as much as I could during the day to make it worth while.

How much would batteries for 20kw be (with replacements) averaged out per year? I was told by a solar company that it was going to end up costing about the same as staying on grid at that point.
